Meet Kristina Sullivan: Actor & Writer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Kristina Sullivan and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kristina, we’d love to hear what makes you happy.
Love makes me happy! I’m happy when I’m with my family and friends who I love. I’m happy when I’m doing what I love; acting, on stage or on set. Or writing, in front of my laptop, or with my pen gliding furiously across my paper. It makes me happy watching my favorite TV show or movie, one where I love it so much, some of my favorite lines of dialogue I can say along with my favorite characters; “I don’t have friends, I have family.”, “It don’t matter if you win by an inch or a mile. Winning is winning.” It makes me happy hearing the sound of one of my favorite songs, a song that I love so much that a smile uncontrollably appears on my face when I hear it. All the people and things that I love, big and small, that put smiles on my face, make me happy!

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I am an actor & writer. I currently play the role of Stephanie Markham in the audio drama/podcast soap opera “Forever And A Day”. I also recently released a book for sale on Amazon called “Monologues & Scenes 101”. This book is a collection of 101 original monologues & scenes that I wrote. I have been both acting and writing for many years. It is not easy to be in such a competitive industry. Therefore, instead of only competing for opportunities that others have created, I started also creating my own opportunities, for not only myself, but for others as well by becoming an independent filmmaker. The first short film that I produced, “More Than Meets The Eye”, I was also an actor and a writer on that film, and it was a success. The film screened at festivals all over the country, winning awards for both best picture and viewer’s choice. One of the biggest lessons that I’ve learned along the way is that success takes a team, and every member of that team is important. What I want the world to know about me and my story is the importance of never giving up on your dreams. I want to be an example to people that if you work hard, you can achieve your dreams.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Some of the best places to go in the L.A. area are definitely the beaches! Santa Monica Beach/Santa Monica Pier, Malibu Beach, and Will Rogers Beach are some of my favorite beach spots. I also like to hike, I’d recommend Stough Canyon in Burbank and the Caballero Canyon Trail in Tarzana, both of these trails have good views. Another place for a good view is the Getty Museum. The Getty not only has a good view, but it also has artwork, a garden, food, drinks, and sometimes live entertainment. There are also a lot of good local restaurants! Some of my favorite restaurants are BlaqHaus NoHo in North Hollywood and the Front Yard in North Hollywood, both of these restaurants have good food and drinks. And, the tacos at Trejo’s Tacos are very delicious!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I’d like to shoutout my kids, Chris and Michelle. They inspire and motivate me to be a success, because I want to be a good role model for them and show them that it is possible to work hard and achieve your dreams.
