We had the good fortune of connecting with Chef Alexus “Lexi” Jordan and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Chef Alexus “Lexi”, how do you think about risk?
You take a 100 risks unknowingly everyday and you’re still here. Starting a business is just taking a KNOWN risk, HIGH or LOW, it’s still a risk none the less. For myself, I was young starting Whipped Elements. I had just started culinary school and I was focused. I asked myself, “Where do you see yourself in 5 years?” and my answer was simple, “running my own business”. I was focused while being open to everything. I learned a lot of life gems while in culinary school that I applied to my own life and business. First, Always be open! New trends arise, new information is found everyday, things change. So don’t close yourself off because you THINK you know that or you’ve done it already. Even when taking a risk, there’s no real thing as failure because you learn so much along the journey! So your business might not work out like you planned but you walk away with the knowledge and a new plan for a different direction.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
What sets Whipped Elements apart from others, would be our passion for delectable cake and cupcake flavors along with our great customer service! Being professionally trained, we work hard on our recipes that once you try it, you’ll be overly pleased by how serious we take our passion! As a small business owner, I wanted to be able to provide an experience were you could enjoy a piece of happiness when-ever or where-ever you wanted. The short answer to how we got here today is simple, being committed to growth while being focused on OUR vision. You can copy someone else’s vision but without knowing the why to things, it will not work out in your favor. You can look at a company and make an assumption about it but you don’t know what it took to get there. Every company has a story from not having enough funding, to not having support, or even everyday ups and downs. Being dedicated to seeing my vision through has gotten Whipped Elements where it is today. Not everyone will understand your vision or support it, but it’s not for them, it’s for you. Even with support, you still have to push through obstacles of doubt and know your self-worth. I overcome challenges by reminding myself of my vision, Whipped Elements will be a household name. My faith and my vision will get me there. I don’t compare my journey to others. I do my own research, hold my own trials and do what is best for Whipped Elements. So when you taste our products, know that it was custom and built from nothing but the vision of mine.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.

Grind Coffee & Tea Bar Dinner: Just Turkey LA, Mimi’s Kitchen, Castles Catering Desserts: Whipped Elements, Top Pots Cookies, Happy Ice Some exciting places we’ll visit: Culver City Stairs, Venice Beach, Santa Monica Pier, Fox Hills Mall, The Grove, Beverly Center, Farmers Market The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Life experiences shaped me into the person I’ve become, so I would like to thank everyone who I have encountered along this journey. My family, friends, and mentors have helped me greatly along the way. Also, my spiritual journey has also played a great part of my personal and professional growth.
