We had the good fortune of connecting with Aria and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Aria, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
I moved around a lot as a child and never had a physical home base. Music and art gave me a home to come back to no matter where I was in the country. It helped me express myself, move through trauma and discover self love. Through having terminal cancer twice and relearning to walk and talk again after my car wreck it is the one thing that has always been a constant healer in my life whether it be calming anxiety, nerve pain, helping me relearn to sing or heal my heart.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
My music has shifted heavily throughout the years as it becomes deeper with every new hardship I’ve experienced. I hope to help heal others and teach them the lessons I’ve learned without them having to go through what I have.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Things are limited during the current apocalypse, but my favorite places remain the local spots that feel very home town. I love the NoHo farmer’s market and the Groundwork coffee right across the street that is inside of an old train depot! I also really enjoy taking the PCH down to Will Roger’s Beach or Manhattan as well! Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My dad has always been the biggest support and influence in my career and in who I am as a person. After my car wreck this year, four months into my own recovery he was hospitalized as well. We are both relearning to walk and talk this year for different reasons but it has made our bond even stronger. He has supported me through everything and always encouraged me to “follow my sparkles” or the things that make my heart and soul happy!
