We had the good fortune of connecting with Chaun Phattz and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Chaun, career-wise, where do you want to be in the end?
Its simple, I want my impact to be undeniable. When its all said and done I want my fingerprints to be visible everywhere. Even if LNWW doesn’t get to the place I want it to be, at least I know I created a bunch of dope shit for the people I’ve worked with.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
To be honest I’m close to developing my style. A good friend of mine told me a few years back that a good brand has a “world” that it derives from and lives in. All of LNWW’s releases or designs (no matter the colors, imagery, subject matter) all come from the same world. I’ve hit many road bumps trying to create my “world” because I had a bad habit of being influenced by other brands/ creatives I admire. No matter how small the influence was, it showed up in my work and made the design hollow.
If I’m fortunate enough for LNWW to reach the world I would like them to know that I love my art and anything they wear from my brand is an extension of me and I hope they enjoy it.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
To be honest I don’t think I’m going to give the most exciting answer for this question. All of my friends are from the same area so we pretty much frequent the same places. With that being said, if a hypothetical friend was visiting for a week it would be quite a bit of ideas and smoke in the air. We may get some Mike’s Deli or Simply Wholesome and change locations but the ideas and the smoke still swirl around in the air. I’m a bit of a introvert so I’m not big on the site-seeing aspect of it but if they’re visiting LA, its essential we go to the beach.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
There are numerous people that have helped me keep going during my time running my brand. Most importantly my family of course because at the end of the day thats home base. But another great support system I’ve been fortunate to have is my LNWW team. They may think they know how much I appreciate them but they don’t. They’re some of the most honest, supportive people a guy like me could ask for.
