We had the good fortune of connecting with Brittany Crawford and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Brittany, what are you inspired by?
Being able to make women feel good through my hands. Turning a bad day around by giving a client a new hair cut and style.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I’ve been a salon owner a little over 3 years. The process of getting my building wasn’t that hard. Doing the build out and dealing with different contractors was challenging. Staying consistent is key. Finding the right staff was a rollercoaster at one point. Standing on why u opened your business and the morale of the salon is very important. Don’t detour from the goal. My mission was to create a space for other stylist to build their brands, be creative and generate clientele under my brand. Snatchgang hasn’t reached its full potential but it’s well on the way.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I would hit the local bar and grills located in Southfield by my salon like Mr.Joes. Redcoat is one of my favorite places to eat and have a cocktail. If we head down into the city of Detroit LeCulture is a dope spot with a great atmosphere. I wouldn’t let my bestie leave without hitting the famous Lafayette Coney Island. Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My family and close friends deserve a shout out for supporting me throughout my journey. Everyone sacrifices something when you are striving to be a entrepreneur as a single mom.
