We had the good fortune of connecting with Victoria Falk and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Victoria, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
The most important factor behind my success has been my faith in God and belief in myself. I am not led by my feelings, I am led by my faith. Therefore, I am able to spot great opportunities and run with them when others are still pondering about what they should do. It makes me sad when I meet smart, capable people who do not believe in themselves enough to follow their dreams. My faith in God leads me to believe that if God gave me the dreams, then He also equipped me with the skills to make them reality.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?

My business is Passionate Travel Inc. I am in my 13th year of business. I own an award-winning online home-based lifestyle and travel business, that offers an exclusive lifestyle membership, and the opportunity for other people to purchase their own online home-based lifestyle and travel business. My slogans are “Life is short. Live passionately.” and “When you work hard, you deserve to play hard.”

I am a Certified Travel Specialist. I book all types of travel for individuals and groups for leisure and business. I also recruit and train people who want to join me in business with their own online home-based lifestyle and travel business. I craft quality, personalized experiences for my travel customers and business partners.

I am most proud of the fact that I was recognized as an International Speaker. Deborah Thorne, President of These Women Mean Business, presented the award during a Trade Mission to the Caribbean hosted by the organization.  I was recognized for a workshop I conducted on the benefits of owning an online home-based travel business.

I am excited about gaining new business partners and growing my team. During this pandemic, more people have become aware of the realities and benefits of owning an online home-based business. Thus, more people have been willing to consider what I have to offer.

I purchased my business years back, with no experience in business or in travel. I made a commitment to learn and after all of these years, continue to seek out additional training so I can stay abreast of the best ways to do things in my business. The steps to be successful as an entrepreneur with a lifestyle and travel business are not hard. What is difficult, however, for many people is developing and maintaining a winning attitude when the naysayers come to offer their words of discouragement. However, fortunately for me, I have never been overly concerned by other people’s opinions. I have too many family members counting on me to succeed to let a few words bring me down.

I’ve learned a lot along my journey. Most importantly, I’ve learned that timing and positioning have a lot to do with how successful you can become. I meet a lot of capable people who hinder their success by waiting too long to proceed with their plans. During their delay, potential customers and business partners have found other people to work with. A great idea, executed at the wrong time, will not yield much success.

I want the world to know that I am truly passionate about travel, my business, and strive to do my best. I am always looking for smart, motivated, business-minded people to partner with.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.

I love New York because there are so many fun things to do. You can find delicious food representing all different cultures. My favorite restaurant is Amarachi, located 189 Bridge Street, Brooklyn, New York 11201. They offer a nice selection of American comfort food, Caribbean, and African dishes. You’ll find everything from traditional chicken wings, macaroni and cheese, fish tacos, red snapper, salmon, to chicken suya, shrimp suya and more. They also have a bar area where you can find wine and great mixed drinks. Try the Yardie punch. Enjoy good music from the DJ while you eat. Whether you want to enjoy brunch, meet up with friends after work, or plan your own special event – Amarachi is a great choice. Contact Amarachi before you plan your next birthday party, networking event, or afterwork get-together.

New York has awesome parks. Central Park is my favorite. You’ll find the zoo, amusement park rides, skating rink, and more in this park. Its beautiful, spacious, and has a large variety of offerings. Prospect Park, Brooklyn Bridge Park, and Riverside Park at West 145th Street are also very nice.

However, my favorite neighborhood is Harlem. Harlem is great for shopping, dining, and entertainment. The Brownstone, located at 24 East 125th Street, New York, N.Y. 10035,  is a must-see when you are in Harlem. You will find stylish clothing and accessories for women. The items are beautiful, quality, and one of a kind pieces. The Brownstone has been a staple in the Harlem community for over 20 years. The owner, Princess Jenkins, is fabulous. Princess is an award-winning entrepreneur, celebrity stylist, personal image consultant, and more. She and her staff provide excellent customer service.

If you head to a party or event and see DJ Barry Blends, you are in for a treat. He knows how to move the crowd and you will have fun. DJ Barry Blends is one of New York’s exciting people. He’s the DJ that the celebrities, politicians, organizations, and more choose for their events. He offers DJ classes for children and adults. I am having a lot of fun taking his DJ classes and look forward to the extra income once I’ve mastered this new skill.

Mark Alston, founder of Alston Entertainment, Buy Black Networking, and Sistah Empowerment is fun and interesting. He has a big smile and is skilled at bringing people together. Whether you’re looking for a party, networking event, or you want to be empowered Mark Alston can lead you to the right event.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
They say it takes a village to raise a child. Well “the village” definitely plays a huge role in my success. I come from a loving family.  My brothers, Lawrence and Eugene Falk, are very supportive of me. I strive to be a good woman because my daughter, Stephanie Williams and my niece, Kenyetta Falk, are watching. I’ve met so many wonderful people over the years and have great friends, including Janice Blake, Simone Way, Shernell Prescott, Jahana King, Stephen Williams, and Keir Walker. I credit Lawrence Ben Miles and Colby Jenkins with teaching me how to promote my business. I have several mentors and people who share their knowledge with me including Lucretia Daniel, Anthony Austin, Seitu Orunde, and Princess Jenkins. I have a special place in my heart for Pearl Phillip and Mr. Brian Figeroux of the New American Chamber of Commerce, Quenia Abreu of the New York Women’s Chamber of Commerce, Yvonne Davis of Sister to Sister: One in the Spirit, Sue Fearless of Fearless Women, Brother Rojo of Powerful Pioneers, Deborah Thorne of These Women Mean Business, Baba and Cynthia Jahi, Rhoda Basley, Cynthia and Hunter Edwards, and Mark Alston, founder of Buy Black Networking and Sistah Empowerment. I shout out to the Sistah Empowerment team: Eartha Watts Hicks, Claudette St. Rose, Dorcas Meyers, Monique Talley, and Dolphine Neal. Shout out to my travel customers and supporters. Shout out to my travel business partners, including Coco Jackson, Lynette Johnson, LeRuz LaRose, Duke Romain, Latonica Readdy, Empress-Blu, Neit, D.
