We had the good fortune of connecting with René Romano and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi René, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
A brand is no longer what we tell consumers it is — it is what consumers tell each other it is. You see, companies cannot merely come up with a branding concept and blindly stick to it without taking into consideration external factors such as customers’ associations, beliefs, and emotions, as well as competitors’ efforts.
The point of this complicated process is to find your way into your audience’s hearts and minds and to distinguish your brand from your competition.
Building a successful brand is an undertaking which encompasses many different tasks that have to be completed and elements that have to click.
It is true that no precise recipe will magically turn your business into a brand, but this is not necessarily a bad thing, mainly because you will be able to unleash your creativity and create a name that will grow and evolve together with the size of your consumer base.

What should our readers know about your business?
What sets us apart from the rest is that we focus on ‘truth and hard-nosed-in your face’ driven content. We don’t cater to what people want to read, but to what people want to know as is never spoken of or investigated in Entertainment and Sports.

It’s been a long road. A lot of challenges in this specific field. But we’ve overcome. And established our name as leader’s in what we do: “telling the truth and being straight forward’.

One of the main lessons learned is that for every obstacle surpassed and or victory acquired, there will be another obstacle waiting at the end of that challenge/obstacle course. It’s a roller coaster of emotions and challenges. Only for the mind strong. Definitely not for the weakmindedly.

In regards to my brand rather, it’s imperative to know that here’s no doubt that brand recognition can help bring in more sales and profits for a company, especially when it’s done right. Therefore, the first thing to understand about successfully branding your business is that a brand is based on a deep connection. As in any relationship, that connection must include trust and an emotional bond. Without those things, the relationship won’t last.

Of course, brand recognition alone isn’t enough to determine a company’s success. There’s a common misconception that a brand is a name, a logo, a tagline, a visual. While these pieces do play a role in branding, this is not what branding is really about.

People connect with your brand when you have a strong point of view or belief about an issue, especially if they have similar beliefs and values.

Also, it’s one thing to say you believe something, but it’s another thing to embody that belief through your brand. Consumers are savvy. They can tell if a brand is fully invested in their beliefs or if it’s just saying something because it’s trendy.

Finally, people connect emotionally when they connect with the story of your brand. Everyone loves a great story. That’s why bestselling books and blockbuster movies often capture the hearts of the audience. Great stories move people emotionally and forge unforgettable bonds.

A strong brand story is no different. Every day, people are bombarded with different products and information. Consumers have countless options to choose from when they’re making a purchase. But if you have a strong brand story, the emotional connection acts as an advocate for your brand.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
My favorite spots in the South Bay area are the beaches and long roads. The beautiful drives down Pacific Coast Highway or Palos Verdes Drive. The food is amazing. An extreme multicultural mix. The smell of ocean salt in the air is definitely a game changer. The cosmopolitan ingredient.. Hermosa, Manhattan, Redondo Beach and Palos Verdes Cove are must see hot spots in our area. Nothing like fresh sea food at the piers and wharfs… Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I’ve had a few mentors, my mother included. She has not only been a motivation, but also an inspiration and a great example of hard work and perseverance.
