We had the good fortune of connecting with Carrington and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Carrington, what do you attribute your success to?
The most important factor behind my brand and its success has been branching out and trying new things. I never planned to be a clothing designer. I actually moved to LA to become a professional dancer. One day I had zero plans so I went to Goodwill and bought a denim jacket. Went to the art store and picked up some paint. I made the most simple design because at the time I was not an artist at all. I mean yea I took art class in high school, but it was for a credit. The next day I wore the jacket on Melrose Ave and some man walking asked me the brand. He loved it so much he gave me $500 right then and there. I obviously kept making pieces because here i am today, but just imagine if i never took that risk of paining on a jacket. Another important factor has been the support from my family, friends, and followers. It feels so good to do something that used to be out of my comfort zone and people hype me up for it. I can’t thank those people enough.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
The thing that sets me apart from most brands is that every single piece is hand drawn/ painted by me. Whether its a custom 1/1 piece, my tees and hoodies, my logo, and even my tag labels I print inside. Everything started out with pencil and paper. Getting where I am today has been difficult but worth it. My hype comes in waves too. Ill get a lot of activity after working with an artist, but obviously it dies down after some time. Thats been my biggest challenge is the consistency of getting people to stay by my side even if I’m not working with anyone. I stay working, and making product despite the peoples reactions because at the end of the day its just me doing what i love which is making art.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I haven’t been in L.A. long enough to explore it all; however, my favorite spot to grab some grub is EAT in North Hollywood. Its actually the best breakfast place. Another spot I always go to is The Ugly Mug Coffee House in Burbank. They have the best coffee without the LA price that comes with most places. My favorite spot to see exciting people is Venice Beach. The street performers, the crackheads, and the skater boys are all so entertaining. My more chill spots are Sunset Beach and any sort of viewpoint. Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to give a major shout out and thank you to the legend Shirt King Fade. The universe had our paths cross the week I started making custom clothing. This man has designed and worked for so many brands, and people. He took me under his wing and has inspired me to grow and become the artist I am. I had the honor of assisting him for a major brand collab with Chinatown Market. Another person I’d like too give a shoutout too is my homie Oliver Malcolm. He was by my side when I transitioned from dancer to clothing designer. He gave me so much hype on every design and looking back at those designs he was just being a good friend because they were trash.
Last shoutout and massive thanks to my Mom & Dad. I dropped out of college without them knowing and started custom clothing. I think they were a bit skeptical at first, but they truly believed in me after a few months of work.
