Hi Tavetta, what makes you happy? Why?
It makes me happy to see people win. It makes me happy to make a positive difference in the world through Abundant Life Publications. I firmly believe the purpose of a business is to make a positive difference in the world by helping people to discover and live their purpose.

For example, this is feedback from a person that I recently worked with and she posted online:

Last month I graduated from my business class that I had been quietly taking.
Same day I pitched my business to a room filled with bankers, loan officers, angel investors, my peers and 3 judges (real life shark tank moment).
I can’t tell you enough how afraid I was to pitch my business…even thinking of a plan earlier that week to advise my instructor that I wouldn’t be able to make it to the ceremony.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Abundant Life Publications provides first-class book publishing and business consulting services. The book publishing department covers book copyrights, book cover design, interior design, editing, ghostwriting, interviews to complete the manuscript for print and digital books. The business consulting department covers business vision planning, digital marketing calendars, digital marketing kits, online course delivery, online course development, social media design, social media scheduling, virtual assistance and zoom courses.

What sets me apart from others is my ability to cultivate purpose in business for Artists, Authors, Public Speakers, Business and Community Leaders.
I am most proud of my ability to stay focused no matter how many challenges I face in business. I am also proud of my ability to remain dedicated to telling true stories in the authentic voice of each Artist, Author, Public Speaker, Business and Community Leader.

I am most excited about the business clarity that I gained from the stillness of the pandemic of 2020 and what will happen as a result of that clarity.

I got to where I am today in business by faith, continuous professional development, by listening and collaborating with mission minded business leaders.

It was not easy to get to where I am in business today. I chose to allow my faith to guide me and to remember that each challenge made me wiser and stronger. I focused on each lesson as opposed to viewing a business disappointment as a loss. Now I teach what I have learned about business so that I can empower other entrepreneurs to courageously pursue their purpose in business.

My top five business lessons:
Operate in business at the top of your industry because there is always room at the top, it is the bottom that is often over crowded.
When you are complete, you don’t have to compete, you are empowered to collaborate.
When your purpose in business is clear, you don’t have to operate in fear.
Stay ready for business so you don’t have to get ready for business.
The business opportunity of a lifetime, must be seized in the lifetime of that business opportunity.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I would definitely look forward to enjoying time in Long Beach, California. We would stay at Hotel Maya. We would enjoy beautiful sunrises from the pool side cabanas by day. We would enjoy evenings filled with chats by the fire pit. We would visit the Aquarium of the Pacific and enjoy sightseeing downtown Long Beach. We would enjoy a sightseeing tour aboard the top of the Big Red Bus and we would enjoy dining at Fuego. Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to dedicate my shoutout to my Husband, Roosevelt. I am thankful for his patience, support, love and encouragement. He consistently encourages me to pursue my purpose and live all my dreams. He has worked a consistent job while building a business and non-profit organization simultaneously with me since we married September 2002. His solid presence in my life and Abundant Life Publications helps me remain steady even during business challenges.
