We had the good fortune of connecting with TE’ and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi TE’, do you have some perspective or insight you can share with us on the question of when someone should give up versus when they should keep going?
Two things, one if it’s something you can’t stop thinking about and if in 1, 5, 10, or even 30 years from now you’ll regret not doing it, then you should do it. If you know deep down in your being that this is what you’re supposed to be doing, then most likely it is. In addition to that, we should pray and meditate on it and then be still. We’ll be able to make the right decisions once we hear from God. I believe there will always be a sign to continue forward if it’s in Gods’ will.

Never give up just because the road gets rough. It’s supposed to test and challenge you to strengthen you. It will test your faith in God and in yourself, build your character, integrity, and strengthen you in order to be able to carry the weight of the blessing.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I’m a songwriter & record producer. I’ve been in the music industry for a long time and have worn many hats. I just recently decided to focus intently on songwriting. The difference between now and when I first started is that I am much wiser, mature, and clear about my vision and how I want to navigate it. I am more trusting of myself and confident in my talents and know that I am here to inspire. I didn’t always have that confidence, I knew I was talented but I let a lot of outside influences keep me in the shadows all while putting other people in the forefront when it should’ve been me leading my own path. That lack of confidence led to counterproductive decision-making and not listening to my intuition about people and situations that were not meant for me.

By the grace of God, I was led on a journey that helped me regain my faith, confidence, and ultimately remembering who I am. It wasn’t an easy journey, I struggled with depression and anxiety, and it’s a day-to-day process to stay in alignment with your purpose. We just have to be willing to do the work. I surrendered control and really leaned on the promises of what God is telling me.

I’ve learned to trust my intuition, because that is God speaking to you, and it’s never off. The only time we get into hot water is when we don’t listen to it. I’ve also learned that my mental, emotional, and spiritual well-being should always come first, no matter how bad I want to help others. Some people like to take advantage of people who are natural givers, so you have to guard your heart. Make sure your cup is full first, and then help others when it’s necessary.
I’ve also learned that sometimes it is just going to be you and your faith, but that’s all you really need.

I just want to inspire people. You can overcome any adversity. All of the things that we go through in life will just be a part of the story that will inspire someone else to keep going. I’ve been doing music for a long time, and I am so grateful for the position I am in now, and where I am headed. The easy thing to do is to turn back and go back to what you’re used to, but that doesn’t help us grow or live a prosperous life. It’s okay to not know what’s coming ahead, but do know that if you just keep walking forward, it will be an experience better than you could’ve imagined for yourself.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my best friends were coming into town, I’d probably plan to go to Catalina Island and go zip lining, or plan a trip to Joshua Tree. I’ve never been there so I think it would be best to experience it with the people I love and take in all of the good vibrations. Anything nature-related is usually the wave. We’ll get some tacos from a food truck, or if we want to do fine dining, I’d take them to Nobu in Malibu. We’re from the east coast so the Cali life is a different experience in general. I know they wouldn’t want to leave lol. Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
All praises go to the most high. My relationship with God has saved my life and completely transformed my life into something greater than I could imagine. Through faith, I am divinely guided, and there’s no greater leader than our creator.
