Meet Mustapha Kay: Recording artist, club promoter, actor

We had the good fortune of connecting with Mustapha Kay and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Mustapha, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
I chose and artistic and creative career because it allows me to create solutions. Finding problems is an easy task that most people do natural. As a creative you allow yourself the opportunity to expand your mind whenever you feel as though things are not working in your favor. The journey of a creative is also filled with ups and downs and gives you many learning opportunities to become the best version of yourself.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
my favorite form of art is my music. My music brings a lot of energy for dancing and concerts and fun. There is a lot of personality behind the art I create And it carry’s over into the music video sets that I have As well as the concerts that I perform. It was not easy getting to where I am Today. I had A lot of trials and tribulations. When you are reaching any form of success, a lot of times life actually gets harder before it gets easier. I got Here with hard work and determination. Knowing what you don’t want a lot of times allows you to make decisions towards the kind of life you want to live. I overCame a lot of challenges by asking myself what the best version of myself looks like, and I created A plan to achieve that. One of my biggest lessons I’ve learned is that success is small wins, not just the big goal. I want The world to know you can achieve success by not changing who you are to conform to and industries standard activities and or practices. You can be at piece in your mind and your heart and still be great. I want The world to know FKP is all about fun and inclusion.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would like to shoutout my roommate, brother and business partner Anderson Small. Since moving to la, we have been through some hard times where each of us needed help pushing that social, emotional or professional Boulder up the mountain. We always have each other’s back and we inspire change and growth in one another daily.
