We had the good fortune of connecting with Tana Rose and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Tana, why did you pursue a creative career?
One word: Happiness. All I had ever dreamed of ever since I was a little girl was becoming successful and happy. Later in life I discovered in order to be successful, I needed to achieve happiness first. Any other career path that I might have taken would of only lead me into a boring lifestyle that I didn’t want in the first place. My passion for music started when I was only a toddler, and has grown extensively ever since! Having a career in the music industry is the only thing that truly makes me happy.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Of course! I am a singer, songwriter and music producer. I have written and produced over 200+ compositions for myself, artists, and clients signed to my company, KB Recording Group. I have a unique fashion style; you’ll never see me in something that is not a shade of red or doesn’t has a floral pattern to it. My music is a mix of Adele, Sara Bareilles, and Meghan Trainor with a hint of Amy Winehouse. It’s taken dedication, perseverance, and a lot discipline to get where I am today, so no, having a career in the entertainment industry is never easy. I face challenges everyday, and thankfully I am able to get through them with the help of my business partner and fiancé, Kyle Burkett. Lessons that I have learned during my journey is that you should never try to reach your goals alone. Always have a team by your side to help guide you and to give a second opinion, even when you think you don’t need one. Another lesson I’ve learned is that in the music industry, people will ALWAYS try to take advantage of you and undervalue you, and that every musician must have a specific mindset. One that screams you are confident, and the best of the best; even if you aren’t. If you don’t believe you are the best, you will never become the best.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Los Angeles definitely has a lot to offer! Places to go would be the Santa Monica Pier, the Hollywood Stars, the La Brea Tar Pits, Griffith Park and The Broad. One amazing restaurant I’ll never forget is Lisa Vanderpump’s PUMP Restaurant & Lounge. Such an amazing experience, delicious food, and outstanding drinks. Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My fiancé and business partner, Kyle Burkett. He’s my driving force, and I wouldn’t be where I am today without him! He constantly encourages me, helps me with the hardest decisions, and is always there for me whenever I needed help. He is also a guide that helps me get me through the toughest of challenges.
