Meet Justin Sapp Sapp: Writer, Storyteller, & Speaker

We had the good fortune of connecting with Justin Sapp Sapp and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Justin Sapp, what habits do you feel play an important role in your life?
being genuinely fascinated by meeting new people, treating their story and lived experience preciously, and choosing to be grateful even on the hardest days ,
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I am a writer, storyteller, and author.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
First, we would grab some coffee and sit outside over at Copa Vida, Pasadena. Then we would take them on a nice drive with a great playlist so they could really understand why southern California is still and will always be the greatest place on earth. We would drive up the 101 and get off to cruise through Malibu Canyon all the way until we see the water. Perhaps chill at Zuma Beach for a while, or grab a drink at Duke’s.
We would head home, perhaps take a nap before heading to the Huntington Library to have a small picnic with some snacks. Later on, we would head over to Highland Park and have a late dinner at Hippo.
Some of my other favorite places and things to do are:
Go to All Time in Los Feliz
Hang out in the playhouse district in Pasadena, visiting Vroman’s and Monopole Wines.
Go to ArcLight theaters (sad i know)
Go to Griffith Park
Watch boats launch out of Marina Del Rey, on my grandfathers favorite bench
I am one of those freaks who is born and raised here and I still think LA is the best, a beautiful mess.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
“Turning Pro” by, Steven Pressfield
This book had a huge impact on my progress and how I approach my work.
I would also like to thank Rob Bell. Rob was a former Pastor who continually pushed the envelop and re-created what conventional roles could look like. For me, he really got me thinking outside of the box on how I could take my passion all the places that I wanted it to go.
