Meet Stacey Olivas: Social Media Influencer and Host

We had the good fortune of connecting with Stacey Olivas and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Stacey, putting aside the decision to work for yourself, what other decisions were critical to your success?
When starting my social media pages, I made it my goal to always entertain my followers and enjoy what I was doing. I started the @90DayFianceNow Instagram page not knowing that it would grow to have over 400,000 followers. I believe by not focusing on how many followers I had and shifting my focus more towards making my page fun for fans is what contributed to its success. In life if you’re only chasing success then you will never have peace and your business is less likely to grow. It is extremely important to be authentic and appreciate your followers and those that supported you along the way. My vision for this page was to entertain the 90 Day Fiancé community if it’s with a funny video, photo, or meme. Also, I wanted to use my platform to promote diversity in the media and bring light to social issues occurring around the world.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Pursuing my hosting and social media career has not been easy, but it has been an amazing journey. I have been able to connect with so many individuals from around the world and that alone has been an incredible experience. Running my social media pages rarely feels like work, because I have so much fun doing it. Through this process I learned that no matter what career I am in there will always be challenges. Therefore, it is important to enjoy and appreciate the journey and those that you meet along the way.
I am happy that @90DayFianceNow has become a place for fans to come together as a community, share their opinions about the show, and interact with cast members. Through my @90DayFianceNow social media platforms, I want the world to celebrate and learn about other cultures. I want to break down barriers that have impacted our society and bring people together. By doing so, we can not only celebrate diversity but life.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I would definitely take them to some of my favorite spots in the area. Los Angeles has some of the best food and outdoor places to visit! First, we would start everyday by grabbing coffee at one of my two favorite shops which are Primo Passo Coffee and Urth Caffé. For desserts, we would have to stop by Fōnuts, which is this awesome donut shop that has amazing vegan baked donuts. I can eat these all day!
Also, I feel like you can’t visit Los Angeles without spending time by the ocean, so for outdoor activities, I would take my friend kayaking, paddle boarding, and/or to play volleyball on the west side. After we get some awesome tans at the beach, we would hit up Venice for brunch. While in Venice Beach, we would go to one of my favorite restaurants with the cutest ambiance, called The Butcher’s Daughter. After brunch, we would then go shopping on Abbot Kinney.
Another outdoor activity by the ocean that I would want to take my friend to is Escondido Falls in Malibu. I love this hiking trail because it has great scenery and waterfalls. While spending time in Malibu, we would also have to visit Café Habana for some delicious margaritas and Moonshadows for amazing seafood with an incredible ocean view.
For nights out I would take my friend to Ysabel to listen to music and Paris Tokyo for a cool rooftop lounge experience in Beverly Hills and for entertainment we would visit the famous Aero Theater in Santa Monica to watch two back to back classic movies. I love this vintage theater that was built in the 1940’s.
Lastly as a kid growing up in southern California, I have countless memories of going to Dodger games with my family. Therefore, we would have to go to a Dodger game and take a tour of the stadium before my friend went back home. I love the Dodgers and anyone who visits L.A. has to go to a Dodger game before they leave. These games are always a blast! Go Dodgers!
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
A person that I want to dedicate my shoutout to is my father. Growing up I was unaware of how important it was to have a great role model in my life and someone that believed in me. My father was that person. He always encouraged and told me that I could accomplish whatever I wanted to in life. As a child and teenager, I remember always running up to or calling my dad to share with him my new ideas or goals. My father not only encouraged me to pursue my passions, but he also helped me along the way. Whether it was being in the front row at all my volleyball games or flying to different states to watch me play, I knew my father always wanted what was best for me. Watching him accomplish his goals and navigate through his careers also made me believe that anything was possible in life with dedication, hard work, and commitment. He also taught me that I should not only have goals but a purpose in life and that in any career I could make a difference in the lives of others by spreading joy and helping those around me.
My high school also played a huge part in my overall success. I attended Bishop Amat Memorial High School, which is located here in southern California. Looking back, while in high school I learned incredible discipline in my academics and through my involvement in sports. Additionally, my high school instilled in me the importance of family and community involvement. Most importantly, Amat encouraged me to always pursue my faith and to keep God first in every aspect of my life. Therefore, I want to thank my high school for teaching me these amazing life skills that I was able to carry with me into adulthood.
