We had the good fortune of connecting with Hodaya Singer and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Hodaya, do you have any habits that you feel contribute to your effectiveness?
Growing up performing in competitions representing Israel made me comfortable on stage at a young age. I feel like this puts me at an advantage! Also spending years studying music in Los Angeles at the Musicians Institute helped me really grasp this industry and how to be a powerful artist. I owe a lot of my success to my confidence! I gained a lot of confidence in my years competing around the world, the more I performed the better I felt about making this a career. Although it did knock me down at times, I was constantly reminded to keep chasing my dreams and keep working hard to make them happen. Winning 1st place at the Discovery Festival last year in 2020 definitely gave me the edge I needed to thrive as an independent musician. I wouldn’t have been able to work with the wins or the losses if it hadn’t been for the support of my parents. All in all I truly owe my success to them.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
The thing I am most proud of is just inspiring others to find his or her voice and to never give up on their dreams because anything is possible. Professionally, I got to where I am today by continuing to put myself out there and not being afraid of who I truly am. It is very easy and I don’t think it will ever be easy but it is something I truly love to do so I will continue to work hard.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Los Angeles seems to be the crossroads of style, film, music and culinary diversity. When my friends come to visit. I treat them to a stroll along the Hollywood Walk of Fame where the monuments to the stars are as interesting as the locals happy to greet you with a big hello. You name the cuisine from Korean, Filipino to Italian your experience will place you in those countries. One of my favorite places is La Boheme in West Hollywood where you taste the delicacies found in Paris. What would be more special than an afternoon at the Grammy Museum? Save a wall or me. The evening is dedicated to rooting for the world champion Lakers at the Staples Center. For my friends who love self care I will recommend Keren Facials – Microneedling Facial or makeup session with Hila Gordon Makeup – an amazing makeup artist! Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I dedicate my shoutout to my family, friends and lived ones who have always supported my music career, as well as everyone I have met in the industry that has always told me to follow my dreams and to never give up.
