We had the good fortune of connecting with Anthony Colocho and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Anthony, how do you think about risk?
Risk taking can take you all the way or leave you with nothing, in my life taking risk has opened opportunities I would have never for seen and experiences that have shaped me and given me deeper insight to the man I am and man id like to be. I’ve traveled the world on a risk. My business and art started from a risk. so I encourage taking risk and creating the life you want even if it means to step into the dark the unknown. Life is risky if you like it or not. Take the risk that can bring you happiness, creativity and wealth.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Making songs and singing them is my art. I love to sing my story and due to that love I got into recording my songs which led me to record my friends music Dokkodo, that eventually led to us opening our recording studio and record label. Its deeper then this. I’ve been making music for 19 years, started recording my self on tape when I was 13 years old. Made a band and we continued to record at various studios progressively bigger and better studios until we found our selves at 21 recording at Tommy Lees house in the Hollywood hills. but times changed and I wanted to have more freedom with recording so I started to invest in my self, recording my music on my own. so fast forward to now I’m 32 with a full recording studio wanting to share with younger musicians who need a place to create. At Studio Classless and Classless Records we want the artist to feel free and creative in there process so its more of a team effort here. I’m interested in what moves our clients and what feels right to them. I act as a guide. giving suggestions on what I’ve seen work before and or what sounds like it fits there feeling. its still not easy and I overcome challenges with a smile and a thank you to God.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Id take them on a bike ride through the city, probably down the beach path to the bluff, then to see Dave The Rainbow for tea ceremony and to show off his art the we would be on our way to Salud Juice. probably get some El Torazo or El Sauz. Id take them on walk from my place to the Colorado lagoon. hopefully take them to see a underground show since no venues are opened quite yet. id take them to Dizzy On Vinyl for a record and hang out. we would ride downtown to smoke one at the light house. in the morning id take them to the Coffee cup for good ol breakfast. if there lucky take them to Sacred Roots on broadway for a massage. Maybe take them to the nature center or to El dorado park for some outdoor time.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
