We had the good fortune of connecting with Eric Leatherwood and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Eric, how do you think about risk?
Risks are absolutely everything, if you aren’t taking risks, you aren’t striving to be better than you where yesterday. In my field of marketing, risk is everything. That’s how you find out precisely what you audience is, what you ideal conversions are, and what funnels work best.

I learned the hard way about that rule. When I was younger, I was way too afraid to take risks, and as a result, I wasn’t where I was at in life. Life is about taking risks, asking out that girl you like , getting that promotion, etc. You don’t take that risk, you don’t get rewards

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
What sets my business apart is the how, how do we do what we do. We offer standard digital marketing services of website creation, social media management, paid socials, second opinions, etc.

What Tessen Productions does differently than everyone else, is offer affordable marketing services, while not compromising as the quality of what we do. This is done through doing an 80/20 approach with marketing where the focus is on increasing the probability of organic virality while decreasing the use of ads. What makes it ea

How did I get to where I am today and was it easy? A lot of mistakes and learning opportunities. I definitely went down the road of learning what NOT to do, instead of going down the road best paved. The journey definitely was hilariously far from easy, definitely on the side of difficult. Learning what to charge, learning how to manage expectations, when to hire, when to fire, just a lot of things that had to be learned the hard way.

What do I want the world to know about my brand and story. It’s that we are all about looking at the forest for the trees while appreciating the leaves and branches. Being able to see the big picture, while also being able to understand the minute details that goes into it

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Favorite spots in the city? Roscoes Chicken and Waffles, Pinks, that BBQ place on La Brea that has bomb BBQ. Of course Venice beach, just so many places to choose from, but those are my favorite spots

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
There’s quite a few people and groups who deserve a lot a credit. My now deceased teacher Richard Sarradet gave me the self confidence to feel like I can do whatever I put my mind to. There’s my YouTube Space community that got me into marketing in the first place

The book that I credit for giving me my outlook on life is Guns, Germs, and Steel: The Fate of Human Societies by Jared Diamond. It perpetuates the idea that innovation and cunning takes greater precedence over tradition, moralism, and aesthetic
