Meet Noam Wolf | Vocalist & a Songwriter

We had the good fortune of connecting with Noam Wolf and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Noam, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
This is just something I always knew I was meant to do. It was bigger than me. But as I was younger, I was convinced that it will be impossible for me to earn money as a musician (or at least I had no idea where to begin).
Before I decided to make that change and make a living from music, I worked in Sales, and my days were super long and exhausting. I barely had time left during the week to work on my original music, practice with my band, or perform.
When I met my husband, who was a very busy hard-working Saxophone player, I started to think about this life, of doing what you love, and I knew this could be my reality too.
I decided one morning to walk into my boss’s office and announce I am quitting. I never felt so liberated and powerful, and I’m so glad I made that move. It was scary to give up the paycheck I was used to getting, but being my own boss and managing my own schedule is the best!

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I’m a professional singer-songwriter. I’m a creative vocalist. I record commercial vocals, and I specialize in vocal arrangements, recorded or live. I have written and recorded vocal arrangements to many known pop, R&B, hip-hop, and soul productions. I always arrange the vocal parts and record from my home studio, I provide quality tracks in a short time, and unique, versatile, vibrant vocal parts and harmonies. Getting to this place wasn’t easy, it took a lot of consistency and willpower. There were a few gigs along the way I didn’t get, and I had more than enough of terrible customers and payment-related incidents. The important thing is I like what I do. And it gives me the motivation to keep going even when life is not going my way.
A few important lessons I learned along the way are:
1) Always sign a contract or have the agreement in writing. That is probably correct for any type of service provider or business.
2) Some people won’t like my voice, my performance, my personality. That’s ok. I keep going.
3) I need to adjust my expectations from colleagues and not expect everyone to be like me.
4) I do the musical projects I do – for the crowd that wants to hear them, not for other musicians.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I’ll admit I’m not much of a city gal, and most of the places I go to on the weekends are outside of the city. But I do have a few favorite spots to eat in, and I’m going to list them here:
1. Sushi and Japanese cuisine – Wabi on Rose in Venice.
EVERYTHING on their menu is superb!
2. Vietnamese Pho – Let’s Pho in Sherman Oaks.
The most comforting Beef Pho I ever had.
3. Pizza – Greco’s New York Pizzeria in Tarzana.
You have not lived to the fullest if you have not had the Hot Honey Sopreseta.
4. Vegan – Cafe Gratitude in Venice.
Served me well in my short time as a vegan. You won’t miss the meat there, fantastic and creative food.
5. Workout and brunch – Spoke Bicycle Cafe in Frogtown.
Spend your Saturday noon in Spoke where you can rent bikes, buy delicious breakfast, and ride to Griffith park to one of the picnic tables! There is a great bike path going directly from Spoke to the park, and you can enjoy the nice views of the Los Angeles River in its glory.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
There are many to choose from! The top three are my parents, my therapist, and my husband.
Each of them pushed me, believed in me, and inspired me more than words could say.
