We had the good fortune of connecting with Terry Wollman and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Terry, what principle do you value most?

Integrity, gratitude and focus. I was brought up to believe that in order to create a good life, and by that I mean “meaningful,” one should always bring their best to whatever they do. That simple idea has guided and enabled me to always set the bar high and bring my personal best to (hopefully) everything that I do. My gratitude exists because I don’t take life for granted. I appreciate each day, person and opportunity that reveals itself to me. Focus and discipline are my tools, or mindset, that allow me to grow as a musician and as a person.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?

My relationship with music began at an early age as something I was drawn to while growing up in a non-artistic family. Music pulled at something deep inside of me and without me knowing it at the time, introduced me to a lifelong journey fueled by my passion and curiosity. Many things in my life that I value have not necessarily been “easy”, but they have brought me joy and allowed me to bring some joy into other people’s lives along the way.

I have a new acoustic album called “Cassini’s Last Dance” (streaming on Spotify) which was inspired by the visionary NASA/JPL scientists who created the Cassini project. We just released a single of the title track… a “virtual” duet with guitar and the sounds of the Cassini satellite. I am also currently producing my next album, a high energy full band project with some very exciting musical collaborations! Stay in touch and stay tuned for more news on IG and YouTube, and subscribe to my channel as I update regularly.

I also host a weekly podcast called “Making It with Terry Wollman” presented by Fireside. The show focuses on the creative process, passion, integrity, art, business, how to create and maintain a lasting career in the music business… and what’s most important in life. Fireside is a new podcast platform (created by Falon Fatemi and Mark Cuban) for the next generation — a socially responsible space for us to come together in “real time”, so that we can collaborate and create meaningful moments.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?

I would mix it up between the ocean, the mountains, and our eclectic local flea markets and restaurants. Maybe take a drive to Santa Barbara, a boat ride to Catalina and an outdoor concert at Festival of The Arts in Laguna to hear my wife Melanie Taylor and I perform on July 9th. Come join us!!!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?

I dedicate this conversation to my fellow artists and entrepreneurs who embrace their creative lives with passion, curiosity and the willingness to do what it takes to get it done… and to my wife & muse Melanie Taylor.
