We had the good fortune of connecting with Leonardo Moleiro and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Leonardo, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
No risk no story
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I have developed my artistic career maintaining a permanent residence in the world of advertising for more than 21 years as an art director and creative.
Visual artist by profession, but above all I use art as a form of expression; a means of communicating creative concepts through a canvas. Whether it is an idea or a message with the intention of awakening a deep emotion, or simply something beautiful to be admired, I propose to convey it through colors and shapes. The things that give us something to think about or talk about, figures and ideas that remain engraved in our memory.
I was born on June 1, 1972 in Caracas, Venezuela, I was interested in music and the plastic arts since I was a child. Following my lifelong passion for the arts, I decided to pursue a career in advertising and began studying art, graphic design, advertising, and sociology.
I started my profession at a young age with DDB Worldwide Venezuela, where I grew up as an art director, then I became part of Leo Burnette Worldwide. My professional career has spanned Mexico, Peru, Colombia, Argentina, Venezuela and the United States.
I have obtained international awards and recognitions both in the field of art and in advertising. I currently live in Los Angeles, California. USA
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I really like fishing, I come from a fishing town facing the Caribbean Sea. If a friend came to visit I think we would go fishing if the weather permits. We would take a brief tour of the city and go to the mountains, a bit of nature, here there are many things to see in natural areas. I really like bars and good food, that would be a good option for the night. I don’t like going to museums with someone, I enjoy going to museums more alone so it wouldn’t be on my list to go to museums. I think it would be a simple list, fishing, nature, bars and good food
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My mom, my family and my wife
