We had the good fortune of connecting with Will Carrillo and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Will, how do you think about risk?
Risk is a challenge for me, It’s not about taking every risk that comes your way, but about training your brain to be able to run a few, while also allowing yourself to think about what would happen if things don’t go as planned.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I feel lucky to work on what really fascinates me, since I was little I knew that this was what I wanted to dedicate myself to, at first I did not know where my career would take me, but little by little I was surprised by how lucky I am. My work took me to travel around parts of the world, with celebrities, commercials, editorials and campaigns.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
We would start the day with a good breakfast at Urth Caffe in downtown Los Angeles, with a delicious Spanish Late. After breakfast we will drive to Venice beach, spend half a day on a bike ride on the beach to the Santa Monica pier. In the afternoon rent a helicopter in California Coastline Helicopter Tour and see from above the beauty of the beach and city of Los Angeles, at the end of the tour drive to Malibu and spend the sunset in El Matador. After sunset drive to the Nobu restaurant in Malibu and have a beautiful ocean view dinner.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
The only person to whom I want to give credit for what I have become is my mother, who was the only person who taught me the values I have and taught me to always be grateful.
