Meet Nicola Peluso | Actor, Model, Adventurer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Nicola Peluso and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Nicola, what role has risk played in your life or career?
I find the concept of risk-taking quite interesting. The word risk by definition is negative: “possibility of loss or injury, Peril. To incur hazard or danger” and is casually used to define almost anything within our culture that is out of our (perceived) control. In truth, risk is all around us, all the time, and with every decision comes an element of risk.
I have traveled the world as a female solo traveler while working as a model and actor. For me, risk is a product of my natural curiosity, chosen profession and something that I fully embrace. What others perceive as risk, I view as essential to my development as an artist and a human being.
Taking risks has afforded me the sense of indescribable pride experienced when reaching the summit of Mt.Kilimanjaro, the exhilaration filming in the streets of NYC and the joy of seeing my photos in fashion magazines. If I hadn’t taken the risk of putting myself out there; getting on that airplane, following my passions and curiosities then I would not be enriched by these experiences.
In my opinion, it is far riskier to remain complacent, allowing fear to keep onesslef from evolving. If one can embrace risk, release control and confidently branch out into the unknown. That’s when life will truly surprise you.
Let the universe surprise you. A life filled with regret is by far the riskiest proposition.
Nicola xx

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I am most excited and proud of my work as an actor. My work is the first think I think of when I wake and the last before I fall asleep. I love telling stories. Stepping into the world of a character and bringing their truth to life. It is work that is continually rigorous, challenging, stimulating and profound. The more I do it the more I absolutely love it and coolant imagine life any other way.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I’m currently in London and this gorgeous city has so much to offer. As we transition out of the second lockdown I look forward to revisiting my favourite haunts… And if my best friend were visiting this is my perfect go to week!
Standing tickets in the yard at the globe. Standing on your fee for a bit os Shakespeare is absolutely electric followed by drinks at Londons oldest wine bar, Gordons.
Duke of York Square Fine Food Market followed by a visit to the Saatchi gallery in the evening cocktails at Disrepute then ringing the bell for more champaign at Bob Bob Ricard.
Browsing antiques at Knotting Hill Market then a stroll through Hyde park and dinner Dishoom.
Shopping for some amazing sustainable/ethical fashion at a Maiyet Collective or SUST Style Pop-up.
A day in my neighbourhood of Chiswick. We would grab a coffee at the best local coffee house Tamp, before exploring the treasure trove of arts and antiquities at The Old Cinema and finish the afternoon with some awesome TexMex & margaritas at D Grande.
A day outdoors in Richmond Park, Kew Gardens or Regents Park. I love them all, so I will let her choose. For a girls day of R&R before her fight…Massages at Ushvani & facials with Nichola Joss. tea at Browns Hotel followed by Sushi at Chisou Mayfair and cocktails at The Conduit.
