Meet Janet Miranda | Be.NYLA Owner & Lead Artist

We had the good fortune of connecting with Janet Miranda and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Janet, what is the most important factor behind your success?
Never giving up and trusting my gut instinct. Willing to try and fail. Always learning. Taking action. And honest communication. Understanding my client, their needs, and being in-tuned with trend has also played an essential role in the success of my brand. My mind is always thinking of new ways to do hair & makeup. Whether it’s introducing a new style or process. I’m passionate about delivering quality results and ensuring my clients are happy.

Please tell us more about your work. We’d love to hear what sets you apart from others, what you are most proud of or excited about. How did you get to where you are today professionally. Was it easy? If not, how did you overcome the challenges? What are the lessons you’ve learned along the way. What do you want the world to know about you or your brand and story?
Be.NYLA is a team of seasoned hair and makeup artists that possess an extensive background in the industry, guiding you through the unique beauty process that meets your event/bridal needs. What we are most proud of and most known for is the detail and customized looks we create for our clients. Clients are asked to bring in hair and makeup inspiration photos, in addition to images of their dress, venue, and overall vision. Our team then shapes a comprehensive beauty look based on their images and personal aesthetic, resulting in head-to-toe synergy on their big day.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I would take them to Grand Central Market in Downtown Los Angeles. A historical market with lots of food places and choices. And a truly local experience! Across the street is Blue Bottle coffee (New Orleans style iced coffee, highly recommend!) located on the corner of the Bradbury building, a famous architectural landmark built in 1893 in Downtown Los Angeles historical core. After, check out the Last Bookstore and the Arts District for dessert at the Pie Hole. End the night with a scenic view of Los Angeles at the Griffith Observatory. Other places I would take them to would be Joshua Tree, Palm Springs, Lake Arrowhead, and a drive along the PCH to take them through beach cities and see the panoramic view along the coast.
