Meet Todd Anthony | Actor

We had the good fortune of connecting with Todd Anthony and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Todd, how do you think about risk?
I think some of the most successful people in the world are those who take risks, there’s no reward without risk. And for me in my career, risk-taking will often times be some of the greatest performances or artwork that will come out of me. I’ve made a big risk recently and that’s writing a book. It’s called “5 steps to elevate your acting career” and It was my way of giving information back to the aspiring actor. At first, I thought I needed to accomplish more before putting out a book but I quickly realized that I have valuable information for those that are in the beginning of their careers so “why not”. It was a risk but one that I’m proud to have taken. If someone reading this wants to get a copy, you can download It at www.ToddAAnthony.com!

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
My journey has been quite the opposite of most artists that migrate to Los Angeles. Like many, my focus was solely on my career but it wasn’t until I started focusing on other areas of life, is when my career started to take shape. Often times, artists want to be successful with no purpose but once l started a family, l realized that what I want to do in life and my career will be for my children’s, children’s, children legacy.
My passion and drive has adopted a new meaning when It comes to being successful in my craft. It hasn’t been easy getting to this point in my career. I’ve been blessed to have people help me in my journey. But we all face a moment in time when it feels like we’re not going to achieve that goal. Bills begin to pile up and you have a family to take care of but, that’s when breakthrough happens. I’ve learned that when you’re trying to break through to the next level in anything, you have to sacrifice something and that’s when your blessing comes!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I always tell my family and friends that visit, they should go to Venice beach because it’s the best place to go to get an understanding of LOs Angeles. To me, it’s a melting pot of what LA looks and feels like. Aside from Venice, Santa Monica is a pretty dope spot to take visitors. Also, Inglewood is probably one of my favorites because it’s so Los Angeles. The food is good and the vibe gives you a sense of home. Unless something special is going on, that’s pretty much my go to places.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My first shoutout would be to my father in heaven. Without my God, l am nothing. Aside from him, my wife and kids are my rock along with friends and close family that have been my support system along my journey of life. There are many mentors in my life that I want to give thanks too as well but too many to name all of them, so I’ll simply say “Thank You!”
