We had the good fortune of connecting with Cameron Willoughby and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Cameron, what’s the end goal, career-wise?
My goal is to own a Creative Management Company. I want to be able to professionally manage and help provide jobs and gigs for other photographers, videographers, stylists, etc, especially for those entrepreneurs of color.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
My business is called Prinze Cam Creative. I specialize in Portrait and Lifestyle photography. The thing that sets me apart from others is the eye that I have. I believe I capture emotions and features that not many others don’t. I go into every session thinking, what if I were the model? I’d want every photo of me to look amazing and different from my ordinary look. I’d want to feel satisfied to have hired a professional photographer and not just have one of my friends taking a picture of me on my phone. Seeing positive reviews and smiles on my client’s faces makes me proud of my brand. A happy client will speak your name in room full of positive opportunities. I’ve always been good at taking photos but I decided to try it professionally, mainly to see if I can be successful at it. I was right, & ofcourse no new craft is easy. I’ve had challenges from bad lighting, to bad angles, to losing photos, to not liking my own work. In the end, I’ve learned that practice makes perfect. Fall in love with your art and keep working at it. Prinze Cam Creative is always going to do its best to provide quality services to its clients.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I definitely love site seeing. Even being a lifelong LA resident, I can never get enough of the views this city provides. We’d go to Griffith Park, Runyon/Eaton Canyon, my favorite Theme Parks (Six Flags & Universal Studios), and ofcourse the beaches. We’d also hit the bars in LA. Good food, good drinks and good music is right up my alley. Being a photographer, we’d also be squeezing in some content photo shoots into the itinerary!
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My success will always be in the hands of my clients, supporters, family, friends and mentors.
