We had the good fortune of connecting with Alima Sanni and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Alima, what role has risk played in your life or career?
I think taking risks is one of the many things that makes life exciting and fulfilling. It can be scary and sometimes it’s easy to make decisions out of fear because it involves stepping into the unknown, but it can be very rewarding. When I’m faced with a situation where I have to make a decision that involves risk, I make my faith bigger than my fears. I made the decision to start a podcast for my entertainment website. It was new territory for me and I was kind of fearful of putting my voice out there, but after a lot of practice and preparation, I decided to go for it. There are also risks involved when it comes to pursuing entrepreneurship. This is the path I’m currently on. I’ve learned to embrace everything on the entrepreneurial journey. The highs, the lows, the failures, and frustrations. It’s not easy, but I love being on this journey.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I’m the founder and writer of Music Love Harmony – a website where I feature and interview artists in the music and entertainment industries. I love giving artists the opportunity to share their stories and I love supporting them. I’m so grateful to the artists for sharing their stories and for making Music Love Harmony what it is.

Music and writing are two of my passions. I created Music Love Harmony after writing for two publications. Both positions involved writing about music, but one of the positions gave me the experience of interviewing music artists. I wasn’t sure about creating my own website at first, but when I made the decision, I knew I wanted to feature and interview artists. I’m still building this brand, which isn’t easy, but I’m so grateful for all the experiences I’ve had along the way. I’ve learned to never underestimate small beginnings. Over the past 7 years, I’ve interviewed and featured over 30 artists for the website, I’ve expanded into a podcast and I’ve created merchandise for the brand. Music Love Harmony is a brand that is centered around the universal language of music. When I created the website 7 years ago, I didn’t view it as a brand. At that time, I thought the words music, love, and harmony fit well together. In recent years I realized that the words music, love, and harmony don’t just fit well together, it’s also three things I believe the world needs more of. I’m so grateful that this message is resonating with people and I love that we can all connect through our love of music.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
We would take an early morning hike at Runyon Canyon. (Big thank you to my friend Franziska for taking me on this adventure!) Then we would get coffee and do some shopping at Hollywood & Highland. Later in the week, we would head to Orange County to visit Newport Beach and Disneyland.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
First and foremost, I want to thank my family for their love and support. I also want to thank my friend Franziska for her support and encouragement. She’s a rockstar publicist and she’s killing it in her business! I’m so happy that we’re supporting each other on our journeys. Last but not least, I want to thank my mentor, Erika De La Cruz for being one of the first people to encourage me when I created merchandise for my brand and for pushing me to start my podcast.
