We had the good fortune of connecting with Cory Krcilek and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Cory, what role has risk played in your life or career?
I feel like risk-taking is vital in growing your career and in life in general. I feel like the higher the risk the higher the reward in most cases, and if you want to get somewhere these days you need to take that risk! I feel like every time I have taken a risk doing some thing I was afraid to do I almost always was happy with the outcome.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Honestly I have a long list of creative endeavors that I am involved in. I started writing poetry in middle school and over the years it developed into songwriting. About 11 years ago I started progressively pursuing hip-hop more specifically. I’ve also always had an eye for photography and cinematography so over the past year or so I have also been pursuing those creative outlets as well. I try to keep a realistic and transparent perspective and approach in all of my creative projects. I feel like that speaks for itself if you have spent any amount of time listening to my music.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I live in a gated lake community called Canyon Lake and there is a ton of stuff to do here. A smoothie from Nekter, a cold brew coffee, then some time at the pool or at the lake would be a great start to the day. I have a music studio in my house and a photo studio in my garage so we would probably end up finishing the night out doing something creative. I spend almost all of my free time outside of work in one of my two studios so I don’t get out much (I also don’t drink so that plays a big factor).

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Honestly I’ve never in my life met someone (other than my own father) that works as hard and consistent as my buddy Matt Tarutis. He’s a fellow creative with a million different projects going on all at once (just like me). Since the day we met it’s been nothing but creative energy! Shout out to the homie!
