We had the good fortune of connecting with Jacob Dunn and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jacob, what do you attribute your success to?
I think that the most important factor behind the success of my brand, Sow Eden, is that it embodies, first and foremost, the love of the cannabis, or hemp plant, and its incredible healing potential. I have a deep connection to the plant, and I have personally seen its therapeutic properties work wonders for both close family members and our growing customer base. I originally got involved with CBD in 2014, in order to help my grandfather deal with some health issues caused by a kidney transplant and subsequent pharmaceutical drug use. My mother was also diagnosed with ovarian cancer in 2018, and CBD helped her tremendously during chemotherapy and more advanced stages of the disease. We have also helped countless other people dealing with anxiety disorders, depression, pain, cancer, and a myriad of other health conditions.

The second major factor behind the success of Sow Eden is absolute dedication to high quality, honest and clean ingredients, therapeutic efficacy, and ultimately family ownership. Many brands in the CBD space come from the marketing or corporate world, and they are mainly concerned with profits at the expense of uneducated customers. Sow Eden produces some of the finest CBD products in the world, and we greatly care about the health and wellness of our customers. We manufacture all of our own products in-house using original recipes, so we feel this is one of the major factors setting us apart and making us successful in such a crowded and oversaturated market.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I actually went to graduate school for Biblical Hebrew and Archaeology. I decided to change gears and become an entrepreneur. The name “Sow Eden” reflects my love and interest in my graduate studies.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I’m a big foodie, so I would definitely plan a lot of food and drinking adventures. Some of my favorite restaurants include Otium, Bavel, Din Tai Fung, and Smorgasburg in DTLA is a must for a Sunday adventure. I’m always down to drink fine cocktails at any small bar or restaurant. Griffith observatory is always a favorite for an outdoor adventure.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My wife, Lindsey. She is my rock. She has believed in me from day one, and has helped to grow the business.
