We had the good fortune of connecting with Tyler Armstrong and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Tyler, what role has risk played in your life or career?
Risk taking can be extremely beneficial. I’m still working on being comfortable with taking risks. Being comfortable feels safe but with that comes little growth or personal discovery.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I’m a photographer/videographer/graphic designer based out of a Columbus, OH. I absolutely love to create, and it fulfills me. Because of this, much of my “success” in the creative industry has come natural. I simply do what I love and the right clients/network finds me.

My love for music and aesthetic has enabled me to capture some pretty interesting images.

If anything, I want to grow my brand into a large production company. Hopefully ones that services many creatives including musicians and producers.

I’ve learned throughout my journey that being genuine is extremely important. People want to feel like their working with human who is excited to be there.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I’d start the day off with some coffee from a local Cafe. Maybe Upper Cup coffee. Then we’d head to the Book Loft (a nifty book store with interesting design) and shop around.

From there we’d head to Easton or Polaris, grab food from Brassica, and take some photos. Or maybe we’d hit high street and make a food stop at north market

For night life, visits to Bar 23, Brothers, BBR, and SeaSaw are good options to see locals in their environment.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My mom. She always made sure to love me unconditionally as a child and I’m really thankful for that today.
