We had the good fortune of connecting with Richy Beats and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Richy, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
I chose music production/engineering for a couple reasons. I always loved music and was always interested on how they made the music behind the scenes. Aka the production/engineering. No one really pays attention to all that stuff but it always caught my attention. I also like how versatile music can be. The possibilities are really endless.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I think what sets me apart from others is my sound/mix. Everything sounds the same nowadays and I just want to have people say “oh yeah that’s Richy”. I’m proud to say I have a clean mix. I make sure you can hear every element in my beats. I always elevate my skills with my beats and mix that’s what I always look forward to the most. Growth and self improvement. I’m not where I want to be at professionally I still need more work to get that placement everyone wants. Its mostly about building connections and networking with others. The thing with me as well is I also want to make music for movies, tv shows, etc… Its all about having a goal and working towards it everyday and never giving up.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I wanna give a shout out to Internet Money. If it wasn’t for their YouTube tutorials I don’t know where my production skills would be right now. I watched almost all of their videos and I really learned from there. All the short cuts and what not. As far as mixing songs I want to give Alex Tumay a huge shout out for streaming his process of mixing during his mixing sessions on twitch. He’s always dropping gems on there, tips and tricks and just gives great advice to those who want to do this for a living.
