We had the good fortune of connecting with Ambrie Jones and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Ambrie, as a parent, what have you done for you children that you feel has had the most significant impact?

The most important thing that I’ve done as a mom is show my boys that with consistency and hard work, you can do anything, be anything and have anything. The boys see me in “GIRL BOSS” mode all the time, be it in the studio, where I create magic and package orders or at in-person pop ups and events while I’m interacting with customers.

I always felt that it was important to bring them with me on this journey so that they not only could see why they’re able to take vacations and splurge on video games, (haha) but also see all the stages of being an entrepreneur and hopefully set out to own their own businesses.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?

SHE Candle Co is DIFFERENT. Sure, I have amazing candles! They’re non-toxic and all that good stuff but I don’t lead with that. I want my customers to have an experience with my candles and I want that experience to be something that they look forward to having over and over again. I source very SEXY fragrances, and I’m honestly selfish about it (haha).

I don’t create anything I wouldn’t use in my own home. Relaxation for me means I’m wearing a silk kimono, drinking a nice chilled glass of wine, playing a little bit of John Coltrane on my record player, and sitting back on my vintage sofa as notes of mahogany, sandalwood and cedar … dance around in the air. See !?  A VIBE! When I create new products, I envision how I would enjoy the scents and how I would incorporate them into my self-care routines, and when I release them, I paint a very vivid picture of how my evening is going and what room I’m burning my candle in. The stories captivate my customers and they’re like “OMG! I NEED!”. SHE Candle Co. products set a vibe and I love that that vibe started with me.

I’ve always “minded the business that paid me” if you will, so I never have gotten caught up in looking at “competition” or becoming discouraged because the candle market is over saturated. I just do me. I think it’s super important to have that mindset because it allows me to be creative and authentic.

I want the world to know that SHE CANDLE CO. is AUTHENTIC. I pour my heart into the creation of my products with the hopes that people who come across my social media, website or even interact with me at pop-ups feel that when they use my products.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?

I’ve been trying to get my best friend to visit like FOREVER . I’m going to be completely honest though, I’m old (LOL) A fun time with me is pulling out a picnic basket, some bubbly and a blanket and sitting under a tree somewhere. We love live music and jazz so it would definitely be somewhere downtown, out in the open where local artists come and showcase there musical talent! Add some wine, cheese and a cute outfit and it’s the perfect bestie date! Someone go tap her on the shoulder and tell her to book a ticket or I’m going without her!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I’d like to shout out ALL of my friends, followers and supporters. I’ve met so many amazing human beings and have built solid connections and friendships since I started my journey as an entrepreneur. We cheer each other on, we laugh, we make time to spend time with each other, we brainstorm and problem solve, we collaborate. We’re genuinely there for each other, and that, my friends, is the most precious gift that ANYONE could ever ask for.
