Meet J – West | Lightworker & Artist

We had the good fortune of connecting with J – West and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi J -, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
Well I feel as if I have an innate passion and drive to help heal the word through my expressions which come in different forms but my main outlet is rapping. I also love painting. I feel that I was given certain gifts that need to be given to the world, I have a special way of conveying an enlightening and uplifting message through my art. I am a leader, a healer and a lightworker. Being an artist allows me to lead, heal and spread light on a grand scale.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
My art speaks for who I truly am, who I aspire to be, and how I want others in my world to be. There is a goal to my art even though they say art should just be open for viewers perspective , I try very hard to fine tune my art to have a message that will have an individual learn to become a better person or want to become a better person. The theme to my art is light i want people to really grasp the fact that you possess the light of God or Source Creator and that you need not look towards exteriors outlets for strength, guidance , or prosperity. My music is hip hop/soul and ever expanding with sounds ranging from ethereal ambient trap trip hop and soulful. My lyrics express what i have been through and how i’ve overcome by transmuting my darkness into light, and I speak of spiritual practices in a conscious lifestyle. I also I’ve created a collective called the Light Side of individuals worldwide who are leading and healing in their communities by spreading light through their artistic/creative passions. My reflects where i have been and where im headed. I have been through alot of hardships so that others don’t have to go through it and can learn from my mistakes. I’ve learned to dance with my shadows.
