Meet Cartrell Daniels | Actor & Music Producer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Cartrell Daniels and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Cartrell, what habits do you feel play an important role in your life?
Consistency. I feel without it, it will be hard to succeed. You can have all the momentum in the world but if you aren’t consistent, at least in the beginning of your entrepreneur journey then you most likely will fail until that area of your work ethic is fixed. Also I would say grit, because when the road gets tuff, and it will get tuff at times, you gotta be able to stomach all the rejection and no’s and push thru until you start seeing some small wins. Then you build on those wins and leverage each one for a new opportunity. I’m far from where I want to be but I know with those 2 things I’m going to continue powering forward no matter what.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I am an Actor and Music Producer. Those are my 2 babies. I have been doing all forms of acting from Theatre to Film since 2012. Really feel in love with the craft when I started attending The Second City improv school in Hollywood. I have also been producing music since 2012. everything from house music to hip hop and RnB. Also have a passion for scoring and providing music for various media projects. My main focus at this moment is Lo-Fi hip hop, or chill beats, this particular genre has helped me rise in the Spotify rankings and start earning money for what I love to do. While I love the music side of things I’ve learned that the real work comes with marketing your music after its released. So for the past 2 years my main focus has been on marketing and building a better brand.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I would take them straight to Las Vegas. 2 day trip. First day we hit up a fancy steak house in the Aria Casino. Then later that night we would hit the night swim scene at the Encore beach club. Then fall asleep to some great room service food at 4am. next day hit up a great buffet for lunch perhaps in the MGM Grand. Then later take in the Cirque Du Soleil show. Then after take in the X S club while Drake is performing and in town.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Definitely wanna shout out my mom and dad for there support throughout my creative journey. It hasn’t always been so fruitful and they have hung in there and supported my creative endeavors for the most part. Also wanna shout of Robert Greene and his great book Mastery. Book has a lot of hidden gems I think a lot of creatives and entrepreneurs could really use.
