We had the good fortune of connecting with Michelle Cochran and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Michelle, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
My thought process behind starting my business was if you know you can help people. Why not try? I had cystic acne. I cured it naturally. So my thing was just getting the word out that there is other options!

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
SKINWITHMICHELLE is a skin care line that is created for YOUR skin. I think that alone makes it so unique. I create items based on someone skin specifically. So when my clients come back and see that I launched a product based on their skin and how it helped them I think it’s very special and creates a lasting impact. I started my brand simply to help others cure their cystic acne the way I cured mine and I’ve been able to help others with eczema, Melasma, dry skin, oily skin, and the list goes on. It is actually a blessing. There’s parts of the business that can be very hard. Learning to create and manage a site, marketing, keeping up with social media, photography, attending events. It can be overwhelming but it’s all worth it. Especially when you’re serving your purpose.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If I were to take them around LA. I would definitely go to the Alleys. I love the small business culture there. Also the food is unmatched. I’d go to the beach. The Santa Monica pier is very different & beautiful. I have a love for the LA culture aside from the fancy stuff. I love the street vendors & street fashion. If it was a Sunday I’d definitely go to Vegan Exchange which is a huge all vegan event with tons of amazing vendors. Then definitely do a night walking the beach.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would give a shout-out to the people who have supported me. For giving me a chance with their skin. I create all my items based on my clients skin type. So I always feel that I wouldn’t be anywhere without them. Also my family. They’ve taken on so many responsibilities to make my business keep going while I began traveling. I don’t know where I’d be without my family & my clients.
