We had the good fortune of connecting with Marcus Gray and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Marcus, what is the most important factor behind your success?
The most important factor behind my success is that I am unapologetically myself. No matter who I am around , doesn’t matter how big or small I will always be true to self. Ive seen too many people lose themselves trying to impress others that don’t care about them or try to keep up with the lives of others. More than anything I do great business and keep things very professional, because there is a thin line between personal and business .

What should our readers know about your business?
Currently we have been in talks with a few different artist and labels about management so that’s what’s been keeping me busy . I think what sets me apart from most managers is that I am still in the clubs doing the ground work , I can spot the talent almost a year or two before they even pop. What I am most proud of is magazines like VoyageLA recognizing the hard work from such a small and growing company. Business wise hard work& dedication, not taking any short cuts and just overall making a plan and sticking to it , yes it gets hard. I am in an industry where its very competitive and people feel like if they help you , you will be taking their job. The number one lesson that l learned is not to take things personal , its just business and control my emotions. I want the world to know that I got into the music business to change things. I want to help get the power back into the artist hands , You hear about so many horror stories about creatives signing slave deals. lets educate these artist about standard record label contracts , lets teach them how important royalties are , your publishing and actually owning your masters !!!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
That’s a good question , ultimately it would have to depend on what my friends would want to do . One of my favorite spots to eat is the Highlight Room in hollywood, They have a beautiful view of the city , its a roof top venue and the food and drinks are outstanding. For drinks we could go to Tempo Cantina or my low-key spot The Library bar downtown la . We for sure would have to hit up the Tupac Museum and grab some of that fire hibachi off my boys food truck Bachi Bus. Monday nights there is a drop karaoke night inside station 1640 where hollywoods elite bask in drinks , food and music all night long .

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Of course , I want to dedicate this shout out to marquis diamond & the entire secret society la team because with out the support of my brothers I wouldn’t have made it this far. They give me strength, balance , encouragement in so many different ways. I wish more people could be like us but hey that’s just how the world is . I also want to give a huge shout out to Uneek Music , Mill ticket Ent, and last but not least The Gypsy Group they know who they are
