We had the good fortune of connecting with Richard Cannon and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Richard, what do you attribute your success to?
The most important factor behind my success has been consistency. One of the hardest things to do is keep going, especially when you get hit. For example, it’s one thing to get 1 million views on a video, but how you gonna act when the next one only gets 3,000 views? How are you gonna act after filming a video for 3 hours and editing that same video for 7 hours and the platform blocks your video from being seen. These are the type of things that makes people quit. The anxiety and disappointment that comes from it is extreme. The people who can overcome that are the one that see growth and success.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
All you can do is your best and you should always do your best. My best allows me to live with the results. If I post a video and it doesn’t do as well as I expected then I can still go about my day knowing I gave it my all. Doing my best frees my mind of regret and doubt. I got to where I am now by believing in my ideas and executing them with whatever resources I have. This shit is not easy at all. It’s lonely, hard, heartbreaking, confusing, and depressing. On the contrary, there is nothing else I’d rather do in life so I fight through it. I fight through it for the possibility of making it to the other side where theres respect, money, and freedom. What I have learned along the way is that you can do whatever you want in life. You have to put in the work, but everything is for the taking. Something comes from something and nothing come from nothing. Believe in yourself and your dreams and go after that shit. Work to be the best version of yourself. I mean why not?

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I’m giving my best friend the LA experience. We are going to hike the Hollywood sign, eat at Roscoes chicken and waffles, ride down Malibu beach because it’s beautiful. We got to go to Mulholland drive and see the views. Hit up Melrose cause why not? I’m gonna take them Jet skiing and go Kart racing. I might even spend a night or 2 in Vegas. And let my money be right, we going to NOBU!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My parents, Jerry and Veronica Cannon. My mom has bought me every camera I have recorded on and my father has instilled in me a believe to go after my dreams.
