We had the good fortune of connecting with Solo Jones and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Solo, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
You dont get anywhere without risk. Better yet, there is no solid reward without risk. Its almost what makes us who we are. Chemical beings, with pleasure censors. A good risk drives those censors. When I first started shooting my own videos, i learned about permits and asking permission to shoot somewhere. That didnt resonate with me at first. If there was a setting I wanted to shoot at, we just ran in and shot. Guerrilla style. Let them kick us out. Get that on film too. Rushed the creative process. The risk was super rewarding.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Im loud. In your face. Aggressively. Passionately. Humbly.

There is no other Solomon Jones. No recreations, replicas, or mirrored image. I dare you to try.

I am where I am because I can fly. I learned how to fly from constantly trying, and failing.. That fall just becomes easier and easier to manage until one day you realize you are supposed to jump first. Therefore we jump.
I am where I am because I am fearless. One too many falls will do that to you.
I am where I am because I am me. Unapologetic, in your face, me..
I am where I am because I have hands. Ill leave that one as it is.

If my music, art, or anything leaves you with something, it will be potent enough to last forever.
Thats what I bring to this world. Light.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Aight so boom.

First off we going to Ack to scoop a Chop Cheese no mayo straight off the grill as we head to the finest of stoops to buss it down without creasing our tims you heard. Then I might crack some henny or something under the brooklyn bridge or something romantic like that.

Straight heartthrob.
