We had the good fortune of connecting with Michael Cornacchia and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Michael, what role has risk played in your life or career?
I don’t know if you would call it, “risk.” It all comes down to what you want your life to be. And that can change without you even realizing it. Every decision you make holds some kind of risk. But yes, I thought I was invincible when I was younger. I had an incredible support system. I left home at a young age and went 3,000 miles away to study theater in Los Angeles because that is where I wanted to be. It was scary. But I knew if I didn’t do it, I would always ask, “what if?” And to me, the “what if?” is far worse than any risk.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I’m an actor in Los Angeles. I have been one for over two decades. I’m in no way famous but I am proud of the work I have been able to do in the entertainment industry. I’ve also had to have many other jobs along the way to make ends meet. For about a decade, I performed at children’s birthday parties. I currently manage corporate events at a private park in Agoura Hills. More recently, I’ve worked in COVID compliance on commercial sets and live events. I’ve also started a VOTE BLUE campaign on TikTok with the hopes of getting more folks out to vote blue in all elections, especially the 2022 midterm elections. I’ve performed stand-up, improv shows, and even was a hosted a movie review show for Japan way back in the day. I’m very eclectic in how I express myself. I find comedy to be the most rewarding form of entertainment because you will know quite quickly if something is funny or not. That works well with my OCD brain needing to be in control of everything all the time and looking for approval. After all, there’s nothing more approving than a laugh. And to me there’s also nothing more beautiful sounding. I bring laughter to everything I do because it makes it even more memorable and makes others around you trust you. That’s also why I use laughter in my vote blue campaign.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
There are so many wonderful things to do in Los Angeles. I tell people, there is a little bit of every country somewhere in Los Angeles from Koreatown to Little Ethiopia, LA has pretty much everything the world has to offer. If someone was coming to visit me, I would take them to Disneyland stoned, the Third Street Promenade – on a weekend evening so we could see all the street performers. We’d eat at the Farmer’s Market and shop at The Grove. A drive over Mulholland Dr is also a necessity at night. You might see a star or two in the sky but the view of the valley to the north and Los Angeles to the south are breathtaking. A hike up Runyon or Temescal Canyons during the day. Definitely take them to Hollywood Blvd to see the Walk of Fame, the Chinese Theater, but not stay too long because it is a tourist TRAP. Then a beautiful drive up PCH to the Malibu Lagoon where we would set up a nice little spot on the beach. We’d also have to party on Santa Monica Blvd in WeHo at all the gay bars and then at all the straight(ish) bars just north on Sunset Blvd. Camping in Ojai would be fun. And partying Downtown would be fun, too. There is so much to do in Los Angeles.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I’d like to give a shoutout to my family and friends. I have never heard the word “no” from any of them and they always come to me with a big smile on their faces. If you don’t have support, you don’t have a foundation which makes it very difficult to navigate through life.
