We had the good fortune of connecting with Dr. Shivani Amin and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Dr. Shivani, can you share the most important lesson you’ve learned over the course of your career?
The most important lesson I have learned overall is not to react when challenges arise. Failure is a part of life, and I actually believe that if you aren’t failing you aren’t learning and your dreams aren’t big enough! Many times throughout my life I have felt like giving up due to feeling overwhelmed, but those moments were a blessing in disguise and guided me toward a path that was always more aligned! If I gave up when I was feeling challenged I never would be where I am today! It is easier to stay in your comfort zone but real growth happens when you learn to overcome the challenges that arise in business and continuing your journey through all the tough times! I have a passion for health & wellness and helping people heal for good. It didn’t always come easy to me as I was trained in a particular way in medical school & residency and now I use a mind-body-spirit approach to healing, which many conventional doctors would not agree with. It was during those times that I had to remind myself if I were to do things the way everyone else was doing them I wouldn’t be honoring my values and the needs of my patients! My biggest advice is be your own cheerleader and enjoy the journey because there is always light at the end of tunnel!

What should our readers know about your business?
I am a functional medicine doctor that truly believes energetics is everything! I practice medicine with a twist as I like to call it, because my passion is guiding souls to their highest health through human design and understanding their own energetic blueprint! I get so excited to understand each person I interact with on a deeper level so they can make the necessary changes in their own lives to experience radiant health, vitality, abundance and joy!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
The itinerary would definitely include pit stops in silver lake, the west side (santa monica, marina del rey area), and of course some of the more famous spots in west hollywood and beverly hills. This is what I like the most about LA, there is something for everyone and so many delicious places to eat at!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My biggest support system is my community! That includes all my wonderful friends here in Los Angeles and the people I work with at Sweatheory and my family back on the East Coast!
