Meet Brandi Bee | Dancer/Athlete, Educator, and Founder of Dazzled By Bee

We had the good fortune of connecting with Brandi Bee and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Brandi, do you have some perspective or insight you can share with us on the question of when someone should give up versus when they should keep going?
The true answer is you’ll never come to a stern agreement with yourself on whether to keep going or give up. There will be days where you feel unmotivated, days that are the best, days where you question your reasoning for continuing. It’s about the journey overall, the process behind whatever it is you’re doing and most importantly the belief in yourself that you can do it.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I create wearable and non wearable crystallized art that I’d like to describe as timeless pieces because it sets you apart from normality to which my slogan is “For those who deviate from the norm”. My canvases are sistine in detail which sets them apart as each piece is carefully hand placed stone by stone. Some of the known pieces of work that have been recognized but not limited to are the custom crystallized bootie heels that typically illustrate an idolized figure to commemorate those from
who we have lost and those who are recognized for their great achievements to which we’ve labeled them as “GOATS”. I started out doing my work on phone cases and over time it developed into focusing on heels, which served as a bigger canvas to work on. I developed the skills to grasping detail with practice and trying different methods to which led me to start doing personal portraits. Something that started off as more of a hobby turned into something I appreciated due to the discipline it took to focus on starting and completing a project and the patience behind that. One post on social media would give me reason to continue further and to see the reactions on others faces for my crystal customization. I’ve gotten to a place of being recognized due to consistency and though there is way more work to be done in order to gain a certain stature, the journey thus far is accredited to believing in my product and the consistency I’ve had to keep going because I believe in it that much. The motif behind Dazzled by Bee is simply put….. be the stand out in the crowd.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Some of the best places in the city are beyond the normal places tourist may go when visiting Los Angeles. Hiking spots beyond Runyon Canyon that are in Pasadena and Whittier where jump off cliffs and waterfalls (sometimes just a stream of water depending on the season) can be spotted. Hole in the wall gems like Juice C juice in Carson, Taco Pete in Compton, and The Serving Spoon/Simply wholesome in Inglewood that’ll give you a little taste of LA culture. Hermosa and Manhattan Beach where you can find sand dunes. Nothing in the city goes up more than a Los Angeles native kickback. Industry life may be glamorized but the real fun lies with the locals who you’ll find to be a lot different from what people who aren’t from Los Angeles would label as “Fake”.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My village deserves the credit. A lot of my morals and strength come from a sense of having a supportive family that push and support me in everything I do in the most humbling way. They keep me grounded and accountable which in turn reinforces me to keep them proud.
