We had the good fortune of connecting with Chloe Anderson and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Chloe, have you ever found yourself in a spot where you had to decide whether to give up or keep going? How did you make the choice?
Funnily enough, I wrote a song about this. It gets to the point where you question: Have I just hit a road block or is this a sign that this isn’t meant to be? You hear practically your whole life, “Don’t give up and you can accomplish all your goals and dreams,” but in reality, the journey is a lot harder than anyone ever warned you about. People either want to tell you to be “realistic” or won’t tell you the truth as to how difficult it actually it in order to spare your feelings. However, no one can get you across the finish line except for YOURSELF. Everyone’s journey is different and although its easy to compare yourself to others, your path is different. The best thing I can say to encourage others-including myself-to KEEP GOING is that if you are passionate about something and work hard enough, you will get there. Take that risk and listen to your intuition. It will be hard, but it will most definitely pay off.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
What sets me apart from others is that I’m not afraid to be myself. I’ve been made fun of practically my whole life for being “weird” or “too much” and after some personal reflection, I accepted that being goofy and laughing and joking around is just who I am. I’m proud of that and I’m definitely proud of my music. I’ve been writing songs since I was about nine years old because I wanted to be the “Next Big Thing” on Disney Channel and I also wanted to be just like Taylor Swift. Then, with practice, I got pretty good at it. I finally got the opportunity to turn them into real songs with some fantastic producers on Soundbetter.com. It was a lot of work and I learned a lot. Also, even with my small following on TikTok and only having a few songs released, I’ve already become a target to cyberbullying bashing on my music. It was unexpected, however, that’s a problem we face in today’s society is when you put yourself out there, there will always be someone to try and tear you down, but you just got to stick to what you love and ignore people who have nothing better to do than hide behind a screen and hate on everything. I want the world to know the real me-my sincerity-and remember me as someone who made a difference rather than just another performer. See me and hear my voice rather than just a distraction. Prove that even if you come from almost nothing, with hard work, you can accomplish anything.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Well, I don’t live in LA YET. So honestly, it would be a surprise for both of us. I’ve only been to a few different cities. I went to school in Studio City so I would definitely show them around there because it’s a pretty nice area. Some friends of mine live in Glendale and their neighborhood is SO beautiful. Even just a walk around the block would be so relaxing and nice. Universal Studios is always fun. I really want to see the Hollywood Sign and the Walk of Fame. I’ve never met a celebrity so hopefully we’d run into one. It would be fun just to drive around everywhere and see everything. Theoretically, if we had the money, I’d definitely want to take them on a tour or a cruise, that would be so much fun!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I want to thank my mentor Beverly Pickett for her full support and encouragement and for referring me to Talent Consultant LA who helped me sign with Wild Models Talent Agency and with my manager, Abraham Lopez, from A Greek God Entertainment. Thank you Abraham for getting me this interview. I’m deeply grateful and honored. But most importantly, I want to thank God for always loving me and for His many blessings in my life.
