We had the good fortune of connecting with Diamonn and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Diamonn, do you have some perspective or insight you can share with us on the question of when someone should give up versus when they should keep going?
The key word for me is passion.  I refuse to give up on things that I am passionate about. I am committed to trying to stay connected with God, whom I often ask for discernment about EVERYTHING. I can also feel when something is no longer for me. I pay attention to signs, and if my intuition is telling me to let go, then I will.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?

I am most proud of my growth as a human being (not just as an artist) and the ability to take on high level risks. Growing up, I was incredibly quiet and timid amongst other people. Never in a million years would I have thought I’d be pursing music at such a high level. I am proud of the brave woman I’ve become.

Lot’s of prayer, discipline, love, and most importantly my strong/supportive team is what helps make my brand so powerful. My family is my backbone. They are the ones who help steer me in a healthy and positive direction, keeping me humbled as well as grounded.  I am also blessed with amazing friends and a host of other talented creatives I’ve worked with for some years who are like family. They also play a HUGE ROLE in my music. I love to keep “GENUINE and HONEST” people in my circle. I am good at tuning into how people are on the inside.

Nothing comes easy for me. Since a child, I’ve always felt I’ve had to work harder than everyone else and go the extra mile. Like many others, I’ve experienced many setbacks that I’ve never broadcasted, and minor failures along the way.  I remember performing on the Apollo Stage. I was boo’d in front of a live audience. Although I was devastated, the experience fueled my fire. Although I was emotional, I felt super competitive and unstoppable and have held onto this feeling ever since. All of my trials have honestly made me tougher, wiser, and more hungrier. It’s an amazing feeling!

I’d like the world to know that the “Diamonn” brand is quality first. It’s healing. It’s love. It’s light. It’s relatable, refreshing and sassy…this is what sets me apart from other brands.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I’d like to dedicate this shout out to my grandmother, Isabella. She died two years ago during covid and like so many others, she passed away alone because of Covid restrictive visiting mandates. My grandmother was beautiful, spunky and had an incredible sense of humor. She was such a strong supporter in everything I did and never questioned or doubted my love for the arts. She was my own personal promoter in her small town, spreading the word about her grand daughter at church and throughout her community. I miss her so much and know she’d be proud of me in this moment of my life right now. I miss you Grandma!!!
