We had the good fortune of connecting with Kyra Edwards and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kyra, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I’ve always had the idea of running my own business. I never really liked working a 9-5 job for multiple reasons. I received information on an eyelash extension class one day & just decided to take the “risk”. As I grew I knew I wanted to do more in the beauty industry, so I set some goals for myself & the business and one of them was achieving my Esthetician license.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I am 4 years into my craft and still learning day by day. It was NOT easy! It took a lot of practice and patience learning how to lash, but then presenting yourself in front of a client & making sure they are satisfied with the service. One thing I’ve definitely learned along the way for sure , all money is not good money and that saying goes a long way. You have to be strong & confident in yourself and in your work because so much will be thrown at you at times you might feel like you can’t handle it when you actually can !

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I like going to Temecula wineries for wine tastings or just eating at the bistros. . Spending the day at an OC beach & reserving a table at Javier’s. Road tripping to Palm Springs & riding atvs. Taking the scenic route and going jet skiing in San Diego. I love a good adventurous time w/ plenty of laughter & food !!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would definitely like to thank my family for supporting me the whole way. Running a business is not easy & it is a lot of investing i knew I had to do but didn’t really know how it would be ! I would also like to thank the friends I’ve met along this journey. These days everyone is so focused on being better than the next, when it’s actually better to have industry friends to learn from & maybe even teach.
