Meet Jazz Bandicoot | Expressionist

We had the good fortune of connecting with Jazz Bandicoot and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jazz, what role has risk played in your life or career?
Taking risks has only let me know I’m strong enough to carry what’s on the other side of the risk, and if I don’t cross that threshold, I’ll be standing in fear forever.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
The obstacles I’ve had to overcome were surely not easy at all. I began to seriously pursue art during a time I was still learning a lot about not only the process, but myself as both a human and an artist as well. The more I learned about who I was, my style in artistry became more apparent to me. It became much easier to put onto canvas everything I conjured in my head. I saw everything a lot more clear. I want the world to know, as long as you are creative, your process will never be 100% easy, and the hardships are all apart of the beautiful process and the ending result.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I’m from Pasadena, CA. So the first place I’d take anyone visiting LA for the first time is to the place I call home. We’re getting burritos from La Estrella & heading to Brookside Park for a calm, chill day in nature surrounded by beautiful elements.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would like to give the ultimate shout out and thanks, to the women in my life who took part in raising me to be the creative, expressing, smart & internally beautiful beam of light I am today. It takes a village and with out mine, the light in me would not be as bright. I am grateful.
