Meet Tabi Reyes | Nail Artist

We had the good fortune of connecting with Tabi Reyes and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Tabi, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
I’ve always been a creative person and knew from a really young age that I would want a creative career. When I was younger I wanted to do everything and anything creative. I went from wanting to be a photographer, to a ballerina, to a painter, to an actress… the list goes on. So I just knew I had to do something that allowed me to express myself through my creativity, no matter what it was.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I’ve learned that setting boundaries and taking time for yourself is extremely important, even if it concerns something you love to do. Burnout is real, and I learned that the hard way. Taking time to rest and take care of myself really helps me when my mind is full of cobwebs (and not the most amazing or creative ideas).
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Los Angeles is rife with the most amazing artists and these artists deserve more love and support! I would recommend visiting all of the galleries that Los Angeles offers, from MOCA to The Broad, or from Blum & Poe in Culver City to Lei Min Space in Chinatown. Plus, there are so many great food spots along the way!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I’d like to dedicate my story and success to my family – we’ve been through lots of loss and change over the past year but I think we’ve become stronger over and closer.
