We had the good fortune of connecting with Jasmine Butler and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jasmine, what habits do you feel play an important role in your life?
A habit that I use in my business is writing down my goals and organizing the tasks I need to complete in order to reach my goals. Each week, I note a few things I’d like to complete that are aligned with my goals for my business. Each day I review my progress and adjust my new tasks accordingly. I continue this cycle week after week and before you know it, the small tasks that I execute each day have transformed into major milestones within my business.

With this method, consistency is key. Making a little progress on a daily basis produces amazing results.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
My love for gloss and connecting with women inspired this brand and I wanted to create something that you and your friends fall in love with for all the right reasons. To be Juicy is beyond just the surface and Juicy by Jay is a vegan, cruelty-free beauty brand created under one simple assumption, Baby, you are beautiful and your beauty is perfect!

Our signature product, Lip Jelly, is the perfect balance between lip gloss and a lip balm. It’s non-sticky but has high-shine, light pigments and ultra hydration. It’s the lip product you’ll use every single day and never get tired of.

Starting a business and stepping into something new is always challenging! Some challenges for me were finding ingredients and creating products that I was proud of, understanding my brand voice and how I communicated my message to my customers, managing the business tools and online platforms, along with preparing for a successful launch – all before I sold a single product.

I’ve only been in business for a very short time so I know I have so much more to learn, but I think the most valuable thing that I learned was to just do and keep doing, that’s the only way you can make anything happen. Entrepreneurship is not easy or as glamorous as it seems, but its worth it.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?

Shoutout to all my Juicy Cousins out there who fell in love with the Juicy by Jay brand and products. You all have done everything to support my small business and dream. It has been amazing to grow and continue to learn with your support and I know for a fact that my business would not be anything without each and every person who purchases without hesitation, leaves reviews, posts, shares and constantly talks about the product. I will dedicate my brand to listening and improving and providing a safe space to remind all of my Cousins that your beauty is perfect!

For those who don’t know, Juicy Cousins are actually all of my customers, who I believe are an extension of the Juicy Family. I wanted every person who came across my brand to feel invested and empowered to be a part of a brand. Without them our brand would not exist and I hope that when you come across Juicy by Jay you decide to be a Cousin too!
