Meet Jae Bryana | Hair Stylist

We had the good fortune of connecting with Jae Bryana and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jae, what are you inspired by?
I am inspired by all African-American women who are business owners as well. I love to see the growth in women while they are growing their business. Seeing them push their selves to perfect their craft, to expand their minds, to motivate those around them, to survive as well as succeed is the most inspiring. Taking in all that the world throws at us all while building an empire with a strong and solid foundation is not the easiest thing to do but to wake up every morning putting one foot in front of the other determined to reach your highest level of potential makes us stronger than ever.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Slayed By Jae is not just a brand or a business, it’s who I am. It’s the beauty I put out into this world, its love, its passion, its confidence, its art, its creativity, and its raw talent. I am so very proud of myself for having the courage and faith to chase my dreams. Most people fear that because they don’t want to face any failures or disappointments that may come along with it. Trust me I’ve had my fair share of both and much more but honestly that’s what pushes me even more. I’m proud that I’ve grown as a business woman who not only recognizes her mistakes or failures but who has actually took the time to learn from them.
The point that I am at now as a stylist/business owner took years full of discipline, determination, patience, mistakes, set backs, growth, the willingness to constantly educate myself, and most importantly faith in myself and God. The journey has not always been easy. I was very young when I first started out and I had to learn the importance of self-image and how I wanted people to see me as a self-made business woman. I am my business so it’s always been important to me what I bring or present to my clients, customers and all those tuning into my journey.
One of the biggest things I’ve learned throughout my journey is that there’s is not anyone out there that’s going to go hard for your business the way that you do. Everybody is not going to see your vision the way that you see it. It only takes on person in this world to believe in you and that one person is you. As long as you have faith in yourself and your ability to make it all happen, that’s all you’ll need. Take your time, do not rush your process. Everything that is for you will come to you and you must have faith in that.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would like to dedicated this to my beautiful baby girl Xiomora Lei Davis. Thank you for the beautiful light, joy, love and happiness that you’ve brought into my life. Mommy loves past the moon and stars above.
