Meet Rebecca Faria | Rebecca Faria I Lymphatic Drainage Expert & Entrepreneur

We had the good fortune of connecting with Rebecca Faria and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Rebecca, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
There is not only one factor, I believe it is the sum of many things that has contributed for what I have become. I would start saying about my background, since all the trainings I have done, my know-how in Chinese medicine to my master’s in Science in Integrative Health and Wellness. I put all the knowledge I acquired over time together and developed an innovative lymphatic drainage method called Detox by Rebecca. I have also always been very committed and responsible with work, which made me able to build a good reputation in my field through word out mouth. I think my quiet, low-key personality also contributed to this. Besides that, we must consider that lymphatic drainage has not yet been as widespread in the United States as it is in Brazil for example. And that is one of the reasons why I chose Los Angeles to start my business.

What should our readers know about your business?
It was a challenging journey until I conquered my own business. I arrived in Los Angeles in 2018, barely speaking English and struggling with financial hardship. At that time, I often resorted to offering free house calls in order to showcase my talent and the benefits of lymphatic drainage. It was all built through hard working, but it was worth it. Nowadays, I am beyond grateful because I feel that I have been living the best phase of my career. I recently open a new SPA in Beverly Hills with more therapists to better serve my clients, I am launching my own brand of tea and in August I will start teaching my first course.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I love everything that involves nature and meditation. So, I would recommend a hiking at Runyon Canyon or Griffith Observatory to appreciate a marvelous view and maybe have a picnic. For those who prefer the sea breeze, with a short drive they can get in Malibu, there is a stunning small trail called Point Dume. After that, they can stop at Malibu Farmers Market to eat something fresh from the sea.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
There are many people I am thankful for, all the professors I have learned from, all the clients I have had, all my team and staff that supports me every day. But I would like to give credits for one special person in my success, my grandmother. She taught me about whatever you are going to do, do it with passion, do your best and do not forget to stay humble and to remember where you came from. In life everyone will run into obstacles at some point. However, what really counts is the ability to keep moving forward despite it. I remember when she came to me with an excited smile saying “I see your commitment every day on taking the bus holding the massage table early in the morning. What would you think on starting your first studio right here, in this room”? By that time, we lived in a small humble house, in the countryside of Rio de Janeiro (Brazil) and there I started my journey as massage therapist.
