We had the good fortune of connecting with Remy Levy and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Remy, how has your work-life balance changed over time?
I thought this question was quite interesting. You have to work and you must have a life so where’s the balance come in play!?

For me it’s all about time , routine, and action. Time is not to be toyed with. As we grow older, your able to internalize the value of time and understand your assignment on earth. When it’s your time, it’s your time… knowing that leads to getting into a routine, something that releases endorphins, healthy foods that aid in high nutritional value ( keeps the mind sharp) and taking moments for your peace of mind before helping others. Humans are for humans, we must lift each other. Those are a few of my rituals that bring me balance.

When you’re taking action in those areas, your mind becomes sharp. Life is up and down, finding ways to keep yourself balanced is vital.

I only speak from experience and that’s the way I perceive balance.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Art stretches for me because I’m great at many things. Love is my foundation, whether it’s cooking, set decorating, shopping for a project, sewing, designing, assisting, modeling or simply getting dressed for the day. I do a bit of everything. Cooking involves the proper energy, I pride myself on making sure I’m in the right space mentally before I involve myself with any and everything and it shows. I was a personal Chef on the movie Judas and the Black Messiah to the Director and Main Character which won an Oscar. Not only was I chef but I had the opportunity to be an extra which shows the diversity in my artistry, to be on the same project and on two different spectrums is a blessing. I currently work in the Art Department of production which allows me to learn, network and get my creative rocks off. I shop for projects, set dress, and pretty much bring the ideas to life. I’m ready to completely direct a video! I’ll be 3 years sober in September. NO LIQUOR. Liquor has failed me in every way possible and I’m most proud of sitting something down that had a negative effect on my beautiful spirit. I wouldn’t be in LA today if I was still drinking and I’m so satisfied with the outcome my choices. A few months ago I went to YOUTUBE UNIVERSITY and taught myself to sew. I’ve designed a few pieces within the last year that I’ll be releasing this year! Timing is beautiful and I allow life to life while utalizing my creativity in all forms. I don’t know what’s next but I do know that whatever it is, it’s being done w/ HELLA LOVE. Maintaining a healthy diet has allowed my mind to elevate, I completed a cleanse at top of the year that changed my life in so many ways. I utilize my time on Earth in high form which allows me to be an example, true influencer and inspire people in real life. Doing the inner work allows me to be great. We are ALL going through something, how you keep it pushing is the ultimate test, treat people the way you want to be treated… it’s thats simple. WE BLEED THE SAME COLOR!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I’m still exploring, this is tough! I’ve been in LA for a 1 1/2 years lol.

We’d wake up, I’d make smoothies, pack us food and head to the beach for a full day of relaxation. For the evening, I’d make one of my signature meals. All homebody feels for the first day.

Throughout the week, we’d check out Pura Vita, one of my favorite vegan restaurants, Italian vibes! So delicious! We’d go thrifting, hit the gold district, get high and comfortable, hit up Primary ( bar Franca ) on a Wednesday night and dance real good! Lol! We’d get real fancy and find a good jazz night, catch a museum, let some days flow, find a unfamiliar trail and get lost a little bit! Oh, VEGAINZ LA! How’d I forget about this hidden gem!? VEGAINZ serves some of the best alkaline meals in California. I drive to Inglewood once a week and order the loaded burrow fries that comes w/ fresh fried mushroom, peppers, onions and two amazing sauces. ( extra sauce for meeee) It’s extremely healthy and super flavorful!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
S/O to GOD, MY MOTHER, MYSELF, FAMILY, and MUSIC for being able to understand, receive and move w/ love.

A teacher, an example, a friend, a Doctor, A leader that leads with love! MY MOTHER, my solider, my Queen. S/O to my Mother for being the best example she could be. I am love simply because of her. It’s really in me and it exudes. KIMBERLY JOANNE has perfected motherhood. Imagine never being judged and ALWAYS told the truth… like no matter WHAT! Imagine someone loving you so good that you almost question it. Like “DAMN, you love me like THAT!” My mom is like a walking manual and I love how much more I understand her as I grow older. I LOVE IT. I had to learn that my Mother keeping it real with me was a mother/daughter bond. I’d try to do that with others and it would go backwards depending on their state of mind lol From my hygiene on down, my mom has taught me SELF CARE tactics for decades and I’m forever grateful for it all! God did his thang putting us together so good like this. And of course all Praises to the MOST HIGH, my faith in God is heavy…the power of PRAYER is REAL! Lauryn Hill, Erykah Badu, Kendrick, the spirit of Tupac, Prince, Whitney, Michael, Bob Marley, the music and the interviews. I love these folks and what they’ve done to my evolving mindset. And S/O to myself for being so strong, I love that about myself. I’m a woman of my word ALL day and I ONLY speak from experience. I stand on not taking anything too personal, the book “whats I know for sure” by Oprah Winfrey, eating healthy, exercising, staying organized, taking time out for yourself no matter WHAT, trusting your intuition, challenging yourself and overall taking care of YOU… take care of your soul, it’s so rewarding.

S/O to Jamal for being extended family while we’re out in LA gettin to it, I appreciate the referral!
