Meet Ben Carr | Bassist + Producer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Ben Carr and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Ben, what do you attribute your success to?
Consistency has always been key for me. I’ve always strived to make so much material that the work became undeniable to people

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I think that the thing that sets me apart if my brutal honesty. It helps me not get too married to ideas that don’t move me.

Getting to the point where I am today has not been an easy road. I’ve been performing for 20 years now and it feels like my career really got started this year. There has been a lot of mental and economic challenges that made it very hard to continue, but the truth is that i just LOVE producing and performing. I’m glad i had all the peaks and valleys because i have a much deeper story to tell now

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Probably would start with a walk or hike along the Hudson River. Then would have to hit Beacon Bread Company for lunch and top it off with Happy Valley, the arcade bar in town.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My parents deserve a shout out, i was fortunate to be raised it a musical household and they have been so supportive along my musical journey. My dad even contributed strings to the latest album, “Homegrown”!
